Ridiculous.
I've participated in the One Lap of America (organized by Brock Yates) twice, once in 2002 in a Subaru and again in 2005 in a Chevrolet Impala and I can not imagine ever doing anything like this on two wheels, without co-drivers, or without a plethora of caffeinated beverages.

That guy is nuts. I look forward to reading every single update though![]()
Ha. Funny, Gary called me up last Thursday. Dude is a total nutter. Should hear his stories about crossing Canada (during some other record run) on a Multistrada covered in blood, fur, and bone. This is from following right behind big rigs with railroad ties welded across the front and they would BAM BAM BAM run into tons of wildlife in the Canadian Wilderness. Deer, moose, whatever. Smash them babies to bits, run it over, chew it up, and spit it out the back.... all over Gary
(he'd follow them so he wouldn't plow one at 100+ KPH on a motorcycle)
eeewww.
Boston --> San Diego
he is my hero...but this guy Baker sounds pretty cool too....
Baker was attacked by a large dog during the ride and had to seek medical attention after the resulting crash. Then later the intrepid rider said he had to shoot two attacking wild dogs near Ft. Apache, Arizona to avoid a similar, or worse, fate. He said the dogs acted like “a pack of wolves.” He also had six flat tires near Dodge City, Kansas, when he rode into a section of road littered by a keg of nails dropped from an earlier passing truck. Those travails, shouldered while riding on a road he characterized as “like plowed fields, some knee deep in mud,” make the jaunt the 1098 & I will take seem like a walk along the beach. The worst we will face will be the invasion of the Massholes
