Dude, they finally made the night-wing!
The new shadow looks good to me actually![]()
I'm interested. As a commuter, the bags are critical. The weight seems heavy. Is this a slightly reworked version of the transalp they sell abroad?
Interesting...not sure my feelings on it.

Ha .... I'm portly ..... that thing is begging to be trimmed down, upgraded, and flung around a race track ..... nekkid
I'd buy it just to put the eng in a real Hawk frame.
Josh ..... ya just have to change the output shaft in the trans to accept a sprocket IIRC![]()

That's the big kicker against it in my book, that bike should be 450lbs dry, if not less. My ST3 with a 992cc liquid cooled 3v VTwin, bags, full fairing, etc is 440lbs dry.
Given that you can already punch a Hawk to 700cc, what's the hoped for gain with this motor over the NT650 power plant?
Edit: Oooh, 4v heads... so that plus EFI, assuming there is room to bore the throttle bodies out, could be interesting.

Putting his hands in the air, like he just doesn't care.

...and it's going to cost $10K...
I just put my reservation in to buy a 2010 in 2013 as a 3 year old left over for 7,500.
The idea that this bike was made for nobody (which I can't totally disagree with) is an interesting contrast between the way America sees motorcycles and the way the rest of the world sees them.
Here, they are toys meant for recreation. Elsewhere, they are transportation. It goes a long way toward explaining the limited offerings that come to the US from all of the big 4.
The US divisions of those companies essentially buy the bikes from the menu of production offerings and import them. The final cost is affected by the exchange rate (not favorable) and emissions requirements. Consequently, it is pretty hard to justify bringing in bikes that make sense but won't appeal to the American market for toys.
..and none of this is likely to change until America becomes more bike-friendly.
