Ya that Ahtune..... I'm wondering why he didn't go with the beamer. Hell, he test drove one on a track.
2013 gixxer sounds more like home to me but an rsv4 factory would wooo me more than Taylor Swift. If I find one used and well cared for. I won't buy a new one for 20k.

Then again. Hopefully, and I'm sure, as the front of the bike dives, the rear brake adjust. Like less-to no brake when the rear tire is very light and skipping or is squirrelly.

On the honda abs the only thing that i notice is the sound of the abs during a hard stop on some slippery or bumpy roads. no feel at the lever or pedal.

i read in sport rider mag, that the zx10r totally owns in abs brakes. Better than the cbr1000rr and the s1krr D:

I thought the brakes on the BMW were better than the ZX10 but I did compare them at 2 different tracks. The BMW I rode at Grattan I hit the brakes about 100ft before my normal brake marker with the speedo reading 155 and could have came to a complete stop way before T1. I thought the engine was a monster but the brakes really stood out. Back end barely even got light even with me on it.

Edit: "And where does that leave us? The Kawasaki combines short stopping distances and excellent control for both performance and safety, and has the best ABS of the three bikes tested here."

Did you make a move on the ZX10 or Gixxer? Just read the road test of the Gixxer, no TC this year . No TC on the Honda either makes them seem a bit overpriced compared to the Kawi.

I was accually going to consider the BMW to try something different. I found the self control to save my cash for property so, I'd have to finance. Jesus christ I didn't realize how expensive it is for full coverage insurance on a bike. Its like insuring a Ferrari. I was quoted 5k for the year. Thats with a good driving record.

I would definitely shop around, Jay. I say that not because that's what everyone's knee-jerk response is, but rather because I am a decent data point for you: we're the same age and live the same city. I don't own property, but my driving record is beyond good. The cost of my full coverage on an '08 1000RR through Liberty Mutual is the quote you received, minus a zero.
Granted, my bike is an '08 and I'm sure that either (a) it's less likely to be stolen or (b) somehow I am less likely to crash it, but that and all the other factors determining insurance risk do not account for all of the $4,500 difference in quotes.

Yeah you can thank the sound police for that. Tested at full tilt the sound emissions from the 10r were over the us noise limit. There solution was to partially close the secondary exhaust butterflies above a certain rpm. The reflash is to tell the CPU to bugger off lol and leave them open. From what I remember once you do that the zx10 has better power to weight than the beemer.![]()
zx10 is the beast. especially 1st gen... take it and go, that bike's a fuggin monster( full exh, pc, stock gears )..outpower on a straightaway ANY bike...tried and tested: 1098R, rsv4 factory, cbr1000rr, gsxr1000, r1....well, maybe not ANY bike, never ran it with s1000rr. But I bet I won't lack too much behind it with my gen 3 LOL

ZX10R

I'm with most people on here in saying the zx10r is probably the fastest and best value of the bunch. Its also the best looking aside from maybe the rsv4. Both the gsxr and the bmw are ugly. Its probably got the most racy ergos too though. So if you really want to go fast again the zx10 is a good choice, but not the most comfy. The Honda or Suzuki will be the most comfy.
It is a significant hp difference that the zx10 and s1000rr hold over the other bikes. Its like 25hp more at the wheel vs the others.
or just mabey
