So, I guess next year the gloves are off for liter bikes...
Yamaha: Has their R1 & R1M.
MV Augusta: is now partnered with Mercedes AMG and showed only a painting of the F4 SBK customer special which makes 210hp (And 385lb dry(!?)
Ducati: ups their displacement yet again, 1299 but 205hp and 395lb curb weight!!!!
Kawasaki: drops the H2 bomb! Supercharged, upwards of 300hp... looks like a skunkworks project... costs almost as much as a superlegera...
What are the answers from Honda and Suzuki?
Suzuki bunts... I guess ALL their resources have gone to the 2015 MotoGP project instead? Because this is just ugly...
Honda... hmmm... there's the timid upgrade on the CBR1000RR
But no sign of a street legal RCV as some still expect.
And Aprilia of course, there is a new RSV for 2015, probably with the same 1100cc upgrade that the Tuono got, who knows what else?
I think the bike I'd be most curious to ride would be the Kawasaki. The bike I'd most want to own would be either the Duc or the MV. I suspect the nicest to ride might be the Yamaha... but my god is it boooooorrriiiiing to look at.
These are good times.
Forgot the S1000RR.

Imagine if one of them came out with a 140hp flagship bike, and their marketing campaign was "You can't handle more than this anyway, you pussy."

Ahhhhh. I think what I'm always missing is they aren't just brute force and ignorance, they have gadgetry to remove the ignorance.
Call me a pussy all ya want, but we don't live in a place where that type of power is even remotely touchable. For crying out loud, I barely escaped being jailed on a sv. So, you buy that type of bike to wring out at njmp once or twice a year? Or some other place where you can stretch its long ass legs?
Don't get me wrong, if I was a gozillionaire I'd own several different flavors, just cuz.

15 does. But I didn't feel like nyst was a high hp joint.
I'm gonna just keep my eyes open and my mouth shut now. Maybe I'll learn something.

I'm a lightweight guy as you know, but the RSV4 was easier to ride around the corners than my 675. It was an eye opener for sure. NYST has two spots where you can use some power... driving up the esses downtown, and up the straightaway uptown. If the bike goes round the corners just as well or better than a 600, you can easily exploit the HP.
I'm with Chip. I don't ride the track nearly enough to justify owning any of those.
I'll be over here drooling as you guys that do justify them show me how it's done.
Getting to the point that a 8-900cc bike category in the 150hp range will be useful.

Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?

No thank you.
I'll wait for the naked versions with -40HP but 1000x the comfort, streetability, practicality and looks.

The tuono is definitely a brilliant bike, but it's no soft touch. That thing has hooligan written all over it. It's just way better for New England roads and 30+ year old wrists. If it had better tank range, I'd have happily chosen it over the multi.
P.s. The Kawi is definitely insane. I am SO looking forward to all the track tests and comparos. The motorcycle press have got it made this (next)year...

Forget second gear. First on my 06 R1 was the gear that started all the trouble.
