250cc race next year

Who's in?? Should be a hell of a good time. Since i have sundays off now. Im thinking about getting back into racing, and 250cc would be great. Not a lot of money spent.

What are you thinking of getting? If you are thinking of racing the class I would suggest the 300.

Is there actually gonna be a 250 & 300 class next year? Thought it was considered but not a definite.

I'd wait for confirmation before buying a bike, especially the 300 which may get orphaned by the rules.

Agreed, if lrrs is trying to bring in a cheap racing class allowing the new 300 would kind of defeat the purpose right?

I was seriously thinking about it. Even ended up with an 07 as part of a trade that I was gonna use. Then I realized that while ongoing costs might be cheap, the initial investment would be every bit as expensive as just buying a prebuilt lw. At my size suspension is an absolute requirement, wheels would have to be replaced with 2nd gen stuff so I could get something other than scooter tires on the thing, bodywork would have to be purchased (or at least a bellypan fabricated), tires, safety wire, etc. Buying things new would mean about 2-3k initial investment into the bike. Decided to forget that and bought an SV instead. I have since spent some time riding the 250 and as gutless as those things are I'm definitely thinking I made the right choice.

Coming real close to trading my bike in for a ninja 300. Cheap race bike plus 100mpg street bike. Sounds good to me.

Just waiting on the word.

With Production Twin being cancelled after 2013 it would make sense to start up a 250 class as an entry level class in place of PTwin

AFAIK it's not set in stone, it's going to be examined to see what participation looks like.
