I will be attending a wedding in Iowa next week and thought it would be a nice break to ride there. Due to time constraints I need to get there in just a few days, so avoiding interstate highways I'm basically left with US-50 from Maryland to Missouri. There will also be time enough for a few diversions onto side roads in West Virginia.

Does anyone have experience on US-50 through Ohio, Indiana and Illinois? Please say that it is not mind-numbingly dull.

For the trip back home I'm taking my time and going south to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive, which I think must be wonderful this time of year as long as traffic and weather don't interfere.
