My bike is bone stock (2008 CBR600rr) and I rode just about every wet session on Monday... and almost all the Blue/Yellow ones on Tuesday.
I hit the rev limiter every lap after the hill, and have been doing it since we started riding Thunderbolt.
My point is that I don't think its the wet or the rev limiter that caused the problem.
But if you've had the fairings off, or in some other manner exposed your wiring to water (besides riding in it)... then maybe a faulty connection could be the cause?
As it turns out it had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the rev limiter. The ground to the frame underneath the fuse box on the left side of the bike had rattled loose and the vibrations were causing the bike to cut out. 20 minutes with no bodywork on the bike and its fixed! That was waaaaay easier than I expected...![]()
Nice.
I'm on my 5th Honda 600 now... I've raced and ridden them for years without one problem... knew it had to be something simple.
word. that is EXACTLY what I was thinking. I took all of the fairings off of mine to clean it yesterday and noticed one of the ground-to-frame lugs and collection of grounds, my first thought was, ooooo check that. Ground gremlins suck. Good work!
Don't Fake the funk on a nasty dunk.
