All right since I have some of the bike apart waiting for the new cowling and headlight to come in, I was just thinking about inspection.
I bought it from some one in new hapshire and I don't know what those "hooligans" pass for inspection, but down here they don't cut too much slack at least on my car anyways.
But the things Im worried about are Windscreen is black not able to see through, flush mount rear turn signals, the front turn signals are only near the headlight none on the side that stick out, and theres also no plate holder with light etc.
Will any of these cause me not to pass?
What do they look for when inspecting a bike![]()
Thanks (for bearing with my question after question post)

No problem asking questions, That what we are here for..
Check out this thread and see if any of the places mentioned in the thread that are not as strick, are near you..

And yes if you go to a shop that does it by the book, It will fail for a number of those things..
Take it to a Harley/Cruiser place. They don't know what our newfangled sportbikes are supposed to look like.
Case in point, I just got my bike inspected and passed with a dark smoke windscreen and no plate light.
The guy was actually pretty cool. He was checking out my tires and was liking the fact that I had ridden on the very edge of the tires. He then proceeded to tell me how he likes to drag hard parts on his harley around turns.
harley-cuiser place huh? I know there one right down the street near the foreriver bridge in weymouth, and another in abignton I think. Should I throw on the stock blinkers on the front if I can get em won't hurt anyhow.
That's actually the exact same place that I go to. He's a good guy and he'll check tires, brakes, headlight, and all the usual stuff. I think as long as you have something that blinks yellow in the front and back it will pass.
On my old bike he made a comment about my flushmount turn signals. He just said "Oh Is this how suzuki is making them now-a-days? They are not as visible as I would like."
I kinda like people to easlily be able to see that I'm turning...
I guess if I had stealth turn signals, (and those tiny hidden little blinky things might as well be freekin invisible), I would ALWAYS use giant hand signals. Getting asspackedis a lot less cool than letting folks know your intent!!!
And PLEASE...this is not an attack on anyone...not an invitation to a fight! It's just an opinion of a fast/fat old guy who's been around a little while!!!![]()

ok now it's on!! Them's fighting words!
Just kidding. That's one of the reasons I went with the new suzuki since it has the turn signals in the mirror and they are up higher and therefore hopefully more visible.
yea the one next to trucchis, but I gotta throw some new tires on it Hardcore gonna set me up with some I believe, and also gonna see if the seller still has the stock blinkers I'll toss them on there just for saftey sake, But ya Ducdave I was thinking the same thing because in the back it just tiny little flushmount (LED/LCD????) signal lights.
Are many places ball busters on the plate holder?
I have the LED signals on my bike, from the rear, the whole side of the bike
lights up ... integrated tail light, hotbodies undertail and LED buttons on the
bungee cord hook on the passenger rear sets. Very hard to miss at night and
visible during the day.
I need to do more work on the front as it is hard to see in daylight.
I am looking for those small yellow xenon strobes I can fit into the parking
light part of the fairing in the SV.
Well going on this topic of visibility, when I took my MSF my intructor drove and electra glide(besides the point) but he had some wiring setup, so when he hit the brakes the rear brake light would blink 3 times and then go solid. I thought it was pretty nice giving yourself a little more attention to be seen especially when stopping.
Harley shops rule because they don't check anything. I got my inspection done at South Shore Motorsports in Quincy since I get inspections for free there (where I bought the bike).
The guy only checked my headlight, turn signals, brake light, and horn. I had no license plate light, no reflectors, and I had a tinted windhshield.
