Nice bike but I feel like its a bit overpriced. Enough already we get it... its rare... sheesh

Thanks, not overly rare for sure...
Yellow light, green light, heart stands still...
2000-2003 are ugly anyway. Form 04 up they redesigned and made them look alot better. I say keep your rare. I'm sure Hyosung's are rare too based on nobody buys them - that doesnt make them worth more.
It is rare though. He said so. Rare, rare, rare. That would be rare to you and me, as in not very many. I should buy it so no one else will have it.![]()

I believe the bike in question is mine the 2000.5 Aprilia RSV Mille R 1000 listed in Maine and NH on craigslist.
The bike is rare especially if you compare it to any of the other bikes for sale. 1st find me another 2000.5 "R" Model and then find me one that even has close to the 3700 miles mine has, in NH, MA, VT, or ME. I bet you wont find one.
There was only 1500 imported to the US in 2000 and a lot of them were used as track bikes and a lot of them were parted out. So yeah a bike that only 1500 were brought to the states 10 years ago to still be around today is rare.
And by the way the early RSV's were the best looking IMO... And the 2000 R is the most sought after model. Other then the super rare SP models
So what you're saying is, you still have it?
bike is still available yes...
cool,
I have one of those, Serial # 20 with 6,100 kilometers (3790 miles). Just hooked up the battery to check.

Are you in MA? I know of 1 in MA and 1 in VT... You must have the one in Mass.
I sucks having a bike with miles that low. It pains me to put miles on the bike any time I ride it.
So is it Rare or SUPER Rare?

Just to let you all know the RSV 1000R factory is not rare at all...
In 2004 they started calling the base model RSV a 1000R and they renamed the R model the 1000R factory.
Starting in 2001 the R model wasn't rare at all they were produced at a much higher production rate.
2000.5 was the 1st year for the R model in the states and they imported from Italy. Also the last year Aprilia hand made the bikes. Again the reason the bike is the most sought after.
R models will have full Ohlins Suspension, Plastic fuel tank, aluminum oil tank, OZ wheels, and motor is tuned with more HP.
Here are all the different models and years they were produced.

I didn't start the thread nor does it say super rare in my ad anywhere...
No matter how you put it the bike is not a common bike. You could go to bike week where you would be surrounded by 1000's of bikes and be hard pressed to see another one.
Props to Jager for handling the ribbing.![]()

Just thought I'd educate people on the bike...
Now if I started trying to sell my 06 ZX-10 and started advertising it as rare I'd understand the thrashing
Sorry I wrote that wrong it's not an inline 4 it's a V-4 cylinder... I edited the above post to read correctly

When you said the miles were that low I figured it was a track bike.
I couldn't see bringing mine around a track, but I guess thats what it was built for. The bike does handle amazingly...
