S&W doesn't make 1911's get the Para P-14 in stainless

    Or certified check...

However if you don't look like a NARC then you might get the best deal with pictures of dead presidents.

My last week purchase the guy only wanted cash or US post office money orders.
    I wasn't walking through NYC with 6 K cash.

You have the dealers by the short hairs...
They can not get beyond most Motorcycles are spontaneous purchases that only deal with monthly payment amounts. Your biggest frustration will be to try to get them out of this mind set.

9 of 10 Dealers will not give you a price other then in person.

Go to your most local dealer last when you know how much you are willing to pay. Regardless of what he says just tell him you will take it for other best price plus 50.

Oh and did I mention get the 1K instead

aside... I am totally amused by the 600 shoot outs that included 636, 675, 750 everyone lauding the more power and torque makes it better.....Knock knock Hello they make big bores

use a cashiers check at the dealer I worked for you got a better deal with that because it is like cash and no liablilty. a credit card the pay points per dollar to the cc company. you go in say you will pay cash or cashiers check (which to them is the same) and if you work out a good deal give them like $200. ( is what most dealers ask for to put a hold on a bike) for a deposit while you go to the bank so that way the deal is set, and that way you make them happy and you still get what you want. .

I just spoke to mark Bettencourt on your behalf (hope that's ok). I didn't mention any names.

He won't bullshit me. He said out the door, everything included price on the GSXR-750 is $10,258. They only have one red/black in stock. They cannot hold on to the bikes. They are waiting for 3 red/black and 3 blue/white to arrive.

The extended warranty (he said don't quote him as he doesn't know exact price off the top of his head) was $630 for a total of 4 years.

He said on an '06 GSXR1000R he could deal. He said if you walked in with $10,500 you could walk out with one.

I guess those prices do not include sales tax.

    derek

My last two bikes: ('03 Vmax & '06 K1200R) have been bought with a personal check.

If the dealer has internet access, and you can access your account information electronically, you can log on and show them the account balance. This should solve the problem of taking a personal check...

This also has the effect of showing them that you are serious and not just "kicking the tires"...

Besides riding my other passion is target shooting. I got 4 firearms so far, including a 37mm grenade launcher!!!

Hey thanks for checking with Bettencourts. I originally wanted a gsx-r 1000 but everyone talks soooo much smack about liter bikes and they are pointless blah blah blah, too much power blah blah blah, you can't even take advantage of all it's power blah blah blah, it's less forgiving blah blah blah, it's true I must say. So that's the reason I started taking the 750 more seriously.

Well the GSX-R 1000 is due for redesign in 07 so it's going to be a totally different bike which im dying to see and how it does on the reviews. So if I were to take the plunge and get a 1000 it would be in 2007.

So 10,500 for a 1000. Now does that include all the extra charges or is that the offer for the bike only?!!?

    http://www.troycitygarage.com

I bought my 12R from them and they were $1600 cheaper then the next best dealer. I visited about 21 dealerships throughout MA, NH, VT, ME, NY, CT, and RI and none of them would even remotely match Troy City's prices. I forget off hand if the assembly charge is included in the prices or not but I do remember it being on the low side compared to other dealers. If you can make the trip out there which really isn't bad at all, you can save a lot of money.

Ha! I tried to talk them down for the hell of it and the guy just chuckled and said "don't bother."

You can probably do it in 2.5 hours but don't quote me on it. I used my mother's house in the Berkshires as a staging point when I bought my bike and took Rt. 2 right into NY (fantasic road for motorcycles). I blew off a day of work to go buy it.

I would suggest you give them a call to confirm the price. The price on mine had been lowered and the website hadn't been updated to reflect it.

Everyone there was very easy to deal with. Next time I buy a bike it will definitely be through them.

Almost forgot, my bike is an '04

About 8 dealerships had leftover '03 models that were more expensive then mine.

2 dealerships had '02 models that were more expensive then mine.

1 dealership had a used '03 with 4K on it and a Muzzy slip-on and they wanted $400 more then what I payed for a younger current year model.

Troy City moves a lot of bikes from Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Honda, and they earn their money through volume instead of huge mark ups.

Just found a picture of what the 2007 GSX-R 1000 might look like

It's going to have a dual exhaust (undertail, and side). MOTOGP style baby.

If that's how it turns out i'm kind of mixed on my reaction. I think the 2006 looks a little better. Too early to tell.

Any salesman with a brain wouldn't write down his "best price" on paper and have you shop it...would need to be a moron, they are out there though...

I sell cars, sold about 1300 or so since 2000...your "best price" is what you will buy the bike for when you are ready to do so.

Anything other then that is just talk...

Asking a salesman what he'll sell the bike for is like asking a girl back to your place before the prom...

I shopped four dealers in person, when I traded my R1 to the Warrior, saved $1000 minus my time invested, about 10 hours...
