Whatever do you suppose the reason was for Mr. Moto Ducati ,to cover / bury the carbs? I just pulled all the electrics that are connected to the airbox , the airbox , the mass of hoses , and finally the carbs! All to clean and rejet them. Clean and rejet was simple , pain in the azz to set float height. Spent an hour eliminating the glorious emissions garbage and silly "over flow" maze. Then reinstalled the carbs into what mess was left. Throttle cables , check...fuel lines,check... wire connections,check...tank on,check...fuel , check...bypass vac petcock to fill float bowls,check...crank over , fires up , adjust idle , adjust pilot screws , check.
Runs like CRAP!! Doesn't like any throttle above "moped speed"! Acts like float level problem!! Arggg , are the carbs flat enough to adjust float level in the bike?
I think I know what the float set issue is. All the extra cash that was spent on "Coolness" should have been spent on an aluminum float base NOT a nylon base that is only held in proper position when the float bowl is in place!
Sorry to rant ! I had to get it off my chest. I only wanted to go for a ride for fathers day........That didn't happen! Thanks for .............reading , laughing at me, and , and , and , aww I'm going to bed!!!

Well , anyone interested in a Monster 750 !!!!!!!!
I reinstalled the carbs tonight ...again for the 3rd time! When I got it fired up it no doubt ran better than the last time. However it stills runs like shit! It will take throttle now but it certainly is lacking power and throttle response. I'm not so sure that the CB200 would run neck in neck with to 6o right now! I have no idea , apparently the bike just won't run properly with the open K&N and the slip ons. I'm beginning to think that I should have kept the Triumph. I am very discouraged right now.
So I am looking to trade a set of carbon D&D slip ons for a set of stock mufflers and a stock air box lid. Then I will take it back to stock jetting.
Thanks for listening to me bitch!
Back away from the Ducati.

Bummer. Nothing worse then putting a lot of time and effort into something and then ending up making it worse. I always battled with my dad working on cars and bikes, but he always trumped with "If it's not broken, don't fix it". Sometimes you listen, sometimes you don't. Sorry to hear.

Are you near Burlington, Vt?
