It's not if, it's when ... sorry to say I laid her down today.
I was riding like I always do, slow in the straights and fast in the turns. Today I came around a turn hot and found myself heading for slow traffic. I got on both brakes but the rear locked up. I rode the rear wheel skid sideways for what seemed like forever but it finally came around far enough where we decided it was time to lay down. All my fault of course since no matter how fast I corner I have to be able to stop short.
Frame slider sheared off but saved my motor. Rashed the right front and side plastics, mirror and pipe. Bent and rashed the front and rear brake levers.
Rashed my leather jacket, textile pants and helmet. Those who have noticed my ICON TiMax pants and asked how I like them, not so much anymore. Wish I would have had my leather pants on.
I've got a bruise on the inside of my right knee and on my hip. Guess my luck bucket isn't empty yet since I walked away from my first low side. Other than being hella pissed at myself for not being able to keep her upright and stop in time I'll be up and riding once the bike is ready.Guess I've got race plastics for the July 12th track day.
It's a good day when you can walk away from a crash!

I'm sorry to hear that. At least you are okay. Damage doesn't sound too bad either. You can get a stock exhaust cheap off ebay since everyone gets aftermarket. Fix her up and we'll see you back out there.
Rob, I'm sorry to hear about your mishap, but I'm so glad you walked away relatively OK. You can repair the bike, doesn't seem too bad? Get it ready so you can make it for the group ride on August 4th...Take care now...

Tough break buddy, get her fixed up nice and we'll see you back out there. glad you were able to walk away from this one. See you on the 12th.
Ah that sucks man but you walked away from it on your own. Could be A LOT worse as you know.
Keep your head up![]()
That sucks Rob, at least now you wont feel bad about riding it hard at the track.![]()
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
Welcome to the club! Congratulations!

I'm glad you're doing alright Cheese. Let's try and get another ride in before your track day (and after you get the GSXR fixed). I'll see about joining you for the next track day too.
woo man! that's unexceptable! glad you're ok.i only crash 3 times. my jean held up pretty good. haha...
"fuckit!"
Cheese, sorry to hear about the lowside. Glad to hear its only rash, bumps, and bruises. How did the rest of your gear hold up? I was about to get myself a pair of those Tmax gloves. Did they do their job?
Sorry again bro. Hopefully we'll see you out on the roads again...soon.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I'm willing to bet that you're going to be a little more careful in the future.
glad that you are alright. anytime you can walk away from a get off is a blessing. now you will have to wear them leather pants when we go riding.

I looked over the gloves and they seem fine so I guess they never hit. I'll warn you though, they have titanium studs in the palms. That's a great idea on the asphalt but it will scratch up your bar ends if your hands slide off the grips at all. Leather alone might be strong enough on the street and easier on your bar ends.
Sorry to hear. Glad you are okay. What road where you on?
Rear brake is the devil.
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
Glad to know you faired well.
Good lesson for everyone.

glad to hear you made it out with the biggest thing hurt is your ego. now fix up that bike soon and jump back on itto bad it had to happen to such a shiny bike, but the good thing is you gear up unlike the other 98.9% of guys on a gsxr

You got off way easier than I have.
That was a "good" fall.
