Pretty cool. Just found out corporate is sponsoring her...
Sir Speedy, Inc. is pleased to announce the sponsorship of Leslie Porterfield, "The Fastest Woman in the World," as she attempts to break a land speed record on a motorcycle. The attempt will take place at the famous Bonneville Salt Flats between August 28 and September 2 during the International Speed Trials, when Leslie will attempt to reach a speed of 254 mph aboard her turbocharged Sir Speedy Honda.
As a current holder of several Guinness Book of World Record titles, Leslie is not new to going fast. In 2008 she broke the world record of 234 mph to become the fastest woman in the world. This time, the goal is to be "The Fastest Person In the World on Two Wheels."
In preparation for the world record attempt, Leslie is at the Bonneville Salt Flats August 14 - 20 during Speed Week.

Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?

Sam
I don't follow these. Maybe the difference being that one's a streamliner and hers is more 'really' a motorcyle?
Dunno, don't care. I think it's still pretty cool the stiff-dicks are going so corporate with ANYTHING like this...

The current motorcycle record is 367 mph held by Chris Carr in the Bub 7 a stream liner.
I was there in 08 when Leslie set the record and got to meet her. One very cool lady and funny too. Oh yeah, she's very easy on the eyes![]()

Thanks Chris. Can I borrow your bike for the attempt?Originally Posted by ChrisNoF4i

Who cares how fast she is, she's going in a straight line so it's not real motorcyling and I bet she couldn't even keep it within 2 lanes. I bet an EX 500 race bike would kick the shit out of her up at Loudon anyway..
