    Not really... That was a fully enclosed shell motorcycle. I'm sure it's fast for a 500cc smoker. But there are traditional shaped motorcycles ('Busas) that routinely go faster than that. The record down at Maxton is 261mph set on a 'Busa, two years ago.

    My buddy Don expects to make a couple of passes down there in about 3 weeks at over 240mph, on a 2004 GSX-R1000. That's his goal. He plans on making a couple of easy "shake-down" passes in the 220mph range to take the win in the class. Then he's gonna crank the boost and see what she'll do before grenading a motor... He's taking an identical spare motor, just in case...
