Nice looking ride. Looks well manicured except that the front reflectors fell off between pics 1 & 2/3. They should use some lock-tite on those things. They always seem to come loose.

Haha yea i dont know what happened...must of hit a bump or two....got a question for you newer gixxer owners. the guy before me bought it brand new and put on the yosh and deleted the exhaust valve, when its cold and i start it it idles so damn low it dies and i have to keep it running for a minute before it will stay running on its own. I know on the 07 600's there was an idle adjustment screw is there such a thing on the big 1k??

    Re: Got a new bike!

Nice ride. I've got an 07 1k. Give it time...at first it's all cool that you've got the 1k with stupid amounts of power...but if you like the twisties...it won't be long before you're on a road like RT 17 in VT or a certain road over in NY and start thinking "Wonder what it would be like with a smaller lighter 600 or 750 on this road?" Funny thing...probably even more fun than the 1k.

As for the idle, pretty sure that has to be adjusted at the shop. I know I can't adjust mine. It has to be done through the ECU via a computer or some other "special" tool. Don't start turning screws, you might throw the TB's out of whack. I'd call a Suzuki shop to double check though, I could be off as you've got an 05.

If it idles at 1200 when warm, it might not be the idle. Perhaps the TB's need a synch. Does it have a power commander? Maybe the map is off.

    Re: Got a new bike!

It doesnt have a powercommander yet...he said it started doing it when he put the pipe on...i have a feeling it has something to do with the lack of backpressure when its cold?? my buddy has an 07 1k (which is blown up at the moment at 5800mi) and he cant adjust his idle. when its warm it idles just around 1000 maybe a little less sometimes.

    Re: Got a new bike!

They all do it...and mapped pc is 265 and that's plug and go..and it smoothes out the idle

Beautiful bike...be careful on it...21yo GSXR 1000. the 2005-2006 were considered excellent! Light, powerful, and raw. Predates the tough emission crap we have to deal with.

    Re: Got a new bike!

Thanks! Ive been riding since i was about 8 and my 750 went real good. i just like riding around town on the 1k with all the low end power, you dont have to rev it way out (causing un-needed attention) to get the grin factor i want!
