OK, so I'm posting this in relation to people saying a bike doesn't fit them so they need something bigger.
Am I wrong, that when I sit on a 600 and then a 1000, they are pretty much the same seating position? I can see the difference between a 600 and a busa, but a 600 and 1000 in the same make are pretty damn close as far as size goes. why do people think that a 1000 will fit them better because they are big????????
Sorry, drunk post. Dismiss, or run it into the ground as you see fit.

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.
people want a bigger bike and they think if they have a reason people wont judge them.
Some brands of 1000 are more cramped than the 6's and sopme are the opposite, some are identical.
None of the sport bikes r1,gsxr,rr are designed for 6'3 fatties. sure, you can manage, but it is far from ideal.

It seems to me that in the past 2 to 3 years, all the liter bikes out there's cockpits seem to be getting smaller, like, trying to be as small as a 600. Which makes sense from a trackbike perspective, but as a heavier, bigger guy, I feel way more comfortable on say, a 05 or 06 zx-10, as opposed to a newer model, my favorite position still being honda 929's and 954's, but they don't seem to be as advanced as today's bikes. Just my opinion, I've been known to be wrong.
If I was to get a new sport it would be a 14 or busa.

Nope, you're absolutely right... It's gotten to the point now where 1000cc superbikes are about the same size as the 600cc supersports.... People (generally new or inexperienced riders) are just trying to come up with more & more (usually bad) excuses as to why they NEED a liter bike for the street... that's all.![]()

yeah i agree in the fact its an excuse for people to buy 1000, which sucks.
actually i am of the camp (curious how many people will agree with me) that the current 600-1000 has NO business being on the street. dont get me wrong, i have an r6 for a street bike. but in a logical society i don't think they should be sold to the general public.

I don't think they should be banned, but I think these bikes being able to get way to close to 200mph for my comfort (and yes, I even consider 150mph too close to 200mph). We all know that the companies aren't going to ever govern these things, and even if they did, we would find a way around it. But as a paramedic in a city that during the 3 months of summer, has one of the biggest squid populations I've ever seen, I've come to realize that the stereotypical tough guy who rides in shorts, sneakers and maybe a t shirt, visor always open with no eye protection, doing wheelies to impress guys, and bouncing off their rev limiters to annoy girls (you think it should be the other way around...), it seems that having a big bike just to be cool ends up usually resulting in natural selection.
Yes, but the main bike I'm looking at is a fz1, not exactly a street legal race bike, but I've also been riding for 8 yrs and don't need to prove my dick is bigger than the next guys. I want some comfort and enough power to ride to up when my girlfriend joins my fat ass on the bike, the 650 is just not powerful enough for 2 on the highway.
... you do realize that bikes ARE goverend, right? Granted it's at about 186.4mphbut still

I wasn't aware, I thought they all just topped off around there.
size wise i got the R1 as i felt i fit on it better than the r6...
to me the bike felt small and the R1 was a better fit
I feel too big for most of the 600's i have ridden....
