Riding along after having to go back to work after a power outage. Just past dusk. A bird, probably a grouse or pheasant, takes flight as I ride by it and flies straight into my path. All I had time to do was duck (pretty sure it wasn't a duck though).
WHACK.
Square in the shoulder. Felt like I got punched with two chicken breasts.
Looked back, didn't see the little guy, hope he made it ok.

Damn, I almost got nailed by a bird yesterday too. I swear those fockers are trying to be dare devils but end up miscalculating their flight skills.
Took a robin to the face last year at about 90 mph.
Blew off my visor and splattered blood all over the tank and mirror. Brand new helmet, first ride on a new to me bike. Not exactly the best sign to get if you're superstitious.

same deal last saturday in CT, coming around a turn I catch something out of the corner of my eye moving, next thing I know a turkey vulture take flights same direction I'm moving. As I saw his tail feathers closing in on my face I put my left hand up and "pushed" him off to the side.

When I worked at Fidelity in Merrimack, they had an insane Canadian goose population and I took a goose to the chest at about 40 one day. Knocked the wind out of me and almost made me crash.
