What you mean like one headlight from a Honda VFR and another from a Triumph Street Tripple?

Like an inline 4, shim under bucket valve adjustment, honest to goodness forks rather than the Telelever setup as well as a host of other tidbits.

We've seen that frame and swingarm somewhere as well...... (thinking "Honda")

...and before anyone says it, yes, I'm aware BMW already has an I-4. This one here is a little more "Japanese" than on the K bikes.

Check out the back cover of Cycle World (Oct 2009). It's in black, or looking closer maybe it has black plastic but the puke green tank.

$13,800 for the base model is pretty damn cheap for Euro hardware. I'd add the $1500 for race ABS and traction control, I dunno about $500 for gearshift assist. NICE bike and the MSRP is reasonable.
    Other MSRPs for 1000cc sportbikes:
    Gixxer: $12,899
    CBR: $11,999 + $1000 for 'race ABS'
    Ninja: $11,799
    R1: $12,390

Another way to look at it is that the base BMW is $800 less than a Duc 848 and the loaded S1000RR is about the same price as a base model 1198.
