No plate either. Maybe it can get one, I dunno. I'm kind of guessing no, not without a loophole.
Advantage of going DRZ is that it comes plated without any fuss.

The only DRZ I'll consider for now it's Chris'.
But overall I'm not looking for DRZs. Especially that one from
ME which is nothing close to what I want.
Yes the DRZ is slow but still fun. However this is a bike I don't need so I won't get out of my way too much for this.
You rode a DRZ for the weekend? And you posted your thoughts? I feel like I missed this.
I get that you don't want a DRZ. I don't have a lot of experience here. But I think you probably want one of those orange colored SMC or SMR things. I just think you're going to have to pay for it.
What I thought of the DRZ? I would never take it to the track. I think it's too slow for it.
I wouldn't use it as a commute vehicle either for the same reason. It's uncomfortable for any speed above 75.
It's very fun to wheelie, stoppie and semi off road situations.
Maybe a very tight track (go kart) style.
It's a toy. If it had 10-15 hp more it would be a no brainer for me. But it's not a toy like my 1000 or my track bike. That's a legit toy. You get it just for fun. And my budget for that is different that if I were looking at another style motorcycle.
That's all.
I can dig it. Sometimes the hunt is half the fun.
Squid.
So is it slower than a Hawk?
Your unicorn is a KTM 525 EXC, though I think I've mentioned that earlier in this thread. Mine was super reliable, smoothest engine of any motard I've had/ridden, and plenty of power. The great thing about the EXC vs the MX versions is the gear box. Low first gear for stump pulling, wheelies and climbing the sides of buildings, and a 6th gear for cruising if you have to. When I had mine, I had no trouble riding 200+ miles in a day.
And I happen to know someone who just bought a new 2014 KTM 300 dirty, and may be selling his 06 525 EXC that has a RI street title and both SM and dirty wheels. You want I should ask about it?
Yamaha
Mark I know of the 525 since Greece. It's the most popular street motard after the XRs.
The problem in the US is that they are rare and expensive.
Let me know if that someone is selling it and what's the price.
Title and wheels as you mentioned are a must.
Thanks for the suggestion and the lead.
I'll check with him in the morning and let you know. He mentioned it last week, but also mentioned possibly keeping the SM wheels. If that's the case, I have a full set of wheels and will give you a great deal on them

No interest in the dirt wheels if it's gonna make any difference in the price btw.

Like I said, pay to play. I'm sure it's worth it though.
