Whenever you buy a new jacket do you guys upgrade the body armor in the coat? They usually come with cheap foam inserts from what I've seen.
I just bought a new mesh coat for the summer and it came with the cheapest armor, and didnt even have a back insert.

I bought upgraded CE knee armor for my MotoGP pants. It was a First Gear knee upgrade, but it fit in the pockets. So far as I know my jacket has hard armor in it already. The only one I'm not really happy with is the back armor; I may buy one of the nice ones you wear under the jacket.
I've heard the name Bohn a few times, I'm pretty sure they're a reputable brand...

Actually I've been doing some research this morning about the whole topic of body armor because I really know nothing about it.

According to Wikipedia the proper armor we need is CE Level 2 certified for street riding. Bohn makes no reference to it's armor being CE level 2 certified.
Velocity Gear makes CE level 1 shoulder and elbow gear. They make a CE level 2 back protector:
