just wondering what type of bolts are assembled originally with jap bikes?

i know they aint mag. ss or ti

the reason i asked is that when disassembling and reassembling my bike alot of the bolts looked crappy

so i just ordered lockhart philps bolt kit of aluminum assorted and i wanted to know what bolts i should NOT use them in place of, because of the strength. or is the strength good enough all over

I assume that a good deal are made of some grade of steel for strength.

Cancel your order. Why would you replace steel bolts with aluminum? I have heard nothing good about the aluminum bolt kits.

i just ordered some bolts for my new motor mounts on the Ex.
got them in two days. They're based out of brockton i think.

The bolts are zinc plated mild steel. Cheap and fairly strong but corrode easially. Hence the zinc plate, zinc is the cheapest plating and can be done in one operation. (chrome takes 2 ops)
If you want to replace your bike bolts with something that will last use 18/8 stainless steel, these will not corrode but are more expensive. Aluminum is fine for non stress applications, bodywork, ancillary mounting applications (rectifiers, battery box etc etc)
I have built dozens of bikes and usually strip the bike, clean the bolts and other parts(axels, spacers etc) on a wire wheel and find a local plater, bung the guy at the desk $50 and come back in a week. Your bike will look like new! Obviously thats a winter job, if you want to do it bit by bit, check out sites like probolt, they have plenty of choice!
