Whats the latest on where to go for cheap insurance? I canceled my old policy at the end of last season since I was planning on selling my bike and not sure what I was going to do about getting another one. Now that I bought another bike I don't know where to start.
I have everything else I own with Allstate but they quoted me $1000 a year, which seems a little high. This is for an '08 R6. My old bike was an '04 and I was paying $400 a year. I do have two speeding tickets, so maybe thats whats bringing it up? Any suggestions?
Literally, just switched form Commerce to Liberty Mutual 10 minutes ago.
For Massachusetts:
2007 Triumph Daytona 675, full coverage
Commerce with AAA discount:620
Liberty Mutual with Mom's UMASS discount:579
I'm 22, have not taken the MSF, zero points on insurance, and got my motorcycle license at age 20.
Hope that helps.

$190 a year full coverage (including collision) 06' GSXR 1000 through commerce....
keep in mind that the limits of your coverage will also affect the premium. Don't skimp out on MED PAY or Optional BI coverage. They will cover your ass if you ever need it to. Cheap is not always good
keep in mind age, location, driving record are all big variables

Yeah driving record is an issue, two tickets last year. I am 31 and engaged. My Allstate agent says once I am married it will be down to like $600 a year which isn't too bad. I will send a PM to BMR6 tonight.
Premiums are:
Bodily Injury to Others: 20000/40000
Personal Injury Protection: 8000
Bodily Injury Caused by an Uninsured Aution: 100000/300000
Damage to Someone Else's Property: 100000
Option Bodily Injury to Others: 100000/300000
Medical Payments: 2000
Collision: 500 Deductible
Comprehensive: 500 Deductible
No rental
No Towing/Labor
Bodily Injury Caused by An Underinsured Auto: 100000/300000
According to Liberty Mutual, these are very very good coverages.
Not to thread jack, but on the note of good med pay, when I crashed my first bike, I was okay, but I reported it in case I needed any hospital treatment later on, which I did not end up needing. I asked if they would cover any hospital bills and they replied they did not but my health insurance did. This was through commerce.

Med Pay will cover any bills not payable under Personal Injury Protection. It's a coverage that you can legally "double dip".
Say you have a $1000 ER bill. Since you're on a bike, PIP will not cover it. So by policy, MED PAY can cover it. However, your health insurance (if you have it) can also cover the bill. If your health insurance pays it. You can request payment of the $1000 for the ER bill directly to you.
Progressive
I pay 300$ for the year with 50k/100k and I get 3k for custom parts and for 12$ I get trip insurance and that pays for hotels and food if I'm stuck 100+ miles from home.
I love being the NESR insurance guy.
You went with Liberty and didn't call me first? You're breaking my heart! But FWIW you did end up with a good policy, there are only a couple small changes I would recommend but nothing life changing.
It sounds that based upon their response you might not have had med pay coverage on that policy.
I promise, this week I will create some posts for everyone about insurance policies and what you should actually be doing.

I'm assuming you work for liberty then, that was my bad, I really just had a brain fart. If my agent didn't truly help me out, I would have no shame in switching. But what happened was that commerce forgot to send my 2A form over or whatever when I switched in the first place, so I called Liberty asking why my policy wasn't canceled. They said it was because they never got the 2A, and then asked why I switched, I said better rates, and my agent told me to fax her over my coverages/premiums and after a few back and forths, she got me a better price.
My coverages are all there. If you can match them and beat the price, I'll gladly switch to you. Feel free to PM me.
