thank you gentlement for answers to my tough questions.ima go hit COD4 for little bit.
"fuckit!"
I bought the HEL brakelines from eBay for my RC51, perfect fit. Nice new fill up of DOT4 and all finished. Used some zip ties to secure them as the SS lines are thinner than the factory rubber lines and dont quite get as secured by the factory hold-downs....
I'd choose smth else over Galfer. Shortly after instaling Galfer SS lines, I noticed some stuff that looks like rust on banjo bolts on caliper end. And this is not only my situation. I've seen at least 1 more bike with the same brownish crap on the bolts that shouldn't be there
Oh, and it's not the brake fluid traces that got splashed/spilled during the install.

So, you're saying my 7 year old bottle of STP's finest DOT3 bought at an Irving to top off a friend's leaky clutch master isn't the right stuff for my race bikes? Rut-roh!
DOT 3, DOT4, and DOT 5.1 are compatible with each other, although you really should stick to one. If your system calls for DOT 4, don't go down to DOT 3, etc, etc. If your system calls for 3, 4 or 5.1, you CANNOT use DOT 5. It's a completely different base and WILL cause problems. The most obvious being turning to a thick jelly if it comes in contact with DOT 3/4/5.1.
If your system calls for DOT 5, you have no choice in the matter, you must run DOT 5.
What if you get hit by a truck on the way to buying the brake fluid?
What if you only like to buy your bike supplies at a fishing store?
What if you just like to reply with ever more improbable scenarios every time someone answers your questions?
Just kidding, I love Kham. he's so very very asian in every way.
1. me and Kurlon think the same (scary for Kurlon)
2. We can type the word Kham now without getting a smilie?
easy easy dont hurt me.
one more... what if you just drain the fluid and forgot you ran out of DOT4 but still have old old DOT3 left and no car to goto store? i guess you can call somebody.
"fuckit!"
