I was wondering when Kawi would pull this out. Bear in mind they also have a 400cc inline four ready to go, it was developed in parallel with the 400 twin...

I've been looking forward to this bike when I first heard rumors of it about a year ago.
Its nice to see Kawasaki revive this segment. Hopefully other manufactures will follow so I can buy one for half price 5 years from now![]()
Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul.

Supposedly two version of the 250, one restricted to 45hp, the other 60hp, and no word if either will see releases outside of Asia. Under CCS this would run in 500 Supersport, 500 SB, ULSB, LWGP. It should be a ripper in the 500 classes, and depending on how much room Kawi left themselves for upsizing it might be able to throw some punches in USLB? Steel frame, will be interesting to see how heavy it is... It's got my curiosity piqued.
Motorcycles should never have more than 2 cylinders. That is all.

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
At one time I might have agreed with you, but after having a ball on some inline 4s, you nuts. All layouts deserve a chance to be fun.
Chances this will land in North America? (fingers crossed)

I think you're right. Over here, it'd likely be priced too close to a 600 to be viable on the market when sitting next to one in the showroom.

i know its nit picking...but why not call it a ZX-2? or even ZX-250?
ZX-25 would imply its 2500 ccs.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

I just gotta say I love my gsxr 400. Revs to the moon and is fairly quick. I would by a new 400 4cyl any day. That being said I doubt we will see them in the states. 400 is even a tough sell here in europe due to the licensing laws. They are in between licenses so not many people by them. Same goes for a 250 which is why you barely see them here. The same license that allows you to ride that 250 also allows you to ride a 650 bmw but not that 400. It's crazy but it's how it is.
I see tons of those 400s in japan though. I really really like the honda version. Been seeing them all over and they sound great

Would Kawasaki send these to Canada?
Not up to date on what the bike mkt. is theses days up north? or the import laws now? But they used to get the European spec bikes that we didn't here in the states and a few would make there way down south. Love to see the 400 show up would bring back the FZR days.
Maybe but doubtful. I dont see a huge market for the little bikes there either. In europe you HAVE to start on a small bike and work your way up the license classes so these little bikes can have a forced market.
Pricing for these tend to be about the same as bigger cc bikes too or more. If I had an unlimited license here I can get used bigger bikes for less than the little ones so why would I buy a little bike?
As much as you say you want one and you would buy one it's hard to do that if your in the showroom and that 400 is nearly the exact same price as a 600.
