Well, I've had the bike 2 days and have been pulled over by the authorities twice...once each day. In both cases, very fortunate. Karma? Maybe how I'm riding?
Given that the twin is touchy at lower revs, it really should be ridden above 5,000. It's a safety issue. Have not yet tried that defense.

There is only one solution to this problem. Give the bike to me. Then you can't get pulled over on it.

If you want a more throttle friendly bike, you can always trade me your Streetfighter for my Z1000![]()

I took it for one test ride and that's the first bike I was nervous about getting into.
trouble for sure![]()
That bike just doesn't like to be ridden at legal speeds.
I test road one and all I have to say is that bike goes. I remember the wheel coming up way to easy. And the front brakes only needing like one finger to stop.

thats a nice looking bike, first time checking it out for me. as for streetfighter, I am too and have only been pulled a couple times both I was speeding outrageously and they were both over a year ago, been good ever since. musta been yer drivin'
If it's anything like the Monsters, It's geared high. If you switch the front sprocket to a 14 tooth, you might like it's low RPM behavior better if you drop that tooth.
I don't even get looks from cops since i have went streetfighter with my bike

I'll probably get it remapped. I've heard that the protune ecu is good...I've also seen posts about the sproket switch helping. It doesn't bother me much. Just adds to the allure of this bike being an absolute beast.

hold on...someone school me on this, but the hyper isn't anywhere near as twitchy as the streetfighter, correct?
granted these were just 5 mile demo rides...
I rode the hyper and had a fun time wringing the throttle, hearing the roar, and pulling controlled pop-a-wheelies when the test ride instructors weren't looking
But when I rode the streetfighter, the twitchyness was unreal. I was afraid of hitting a pothole in fear of the bike just taking off!
Yeah I've heard of that. I might just get it.
I was considering an exhaust and getting a map done but I'm not sure I can justify throwing 1k+ at my street bike just for it to sound nice...
Maybe for xmas lol
Could also highly depend on the throttle slack and other general maintenance of the demo ride bikes...

Well...my question was answered again last night in Boxford. I came around a corner at a "reasonable" speed, knowing there was a stop sign dead ahead. A cop was sitting across the intersection watching as I pulled to a stop. No issue...I stopped, looked both ways, and proceeded to the left down the road. He then proceeded out and tailgated me for close to a mile, including a right turn on to Rt. 97, until I jumped on I-95 South. WTF??

"what the hell is that thing, it's sweet"
Man, didn't realize these things were such targets for the LEOs.
I used to do mild hooligan antics on my Ducati, and never had any problems. I'm sure if I had a GSX-R6 RR or something like that though, they would have pulled a gun on me.
I got pulled over on my old M944 rip snortin' hot rod no less than 3 times where the LEO came up and said "nice bike!" We'd chat for a bit about how not having both wheels on the grounds scares old ladies crossing the street and how he had such a sweet grandma he didn't want to see die of a heart attack... and then he sent me on my merry way.
