Everyone knows that calipers are made to move in relation to the rotor, because a rotor may not be perfectly flat. (obviously, you'd like them to be)
Anyway, I ask because I did order new caliper bolts (yes, they're pro-bolts) and had to cut them down. I wasn't going to pay $13 each for a titanium bolt and the stainless didn't come in a 25mm, which I need. They came in 20mm and 30mm, go figure.
After I cut them down, a little is left sticking out the inside of the caliper, in the direction of the rotor. The closest point seems to be the rotor buttons. There Seems to be 3-4mm clearance. Will this be an issue?

couldn't you cut them little more? i would.
"fuckit!"
My experience with resizing bolts, is to measure the old bolt with a high tolerance tool (caliper)and cut the new bolt to equal them as perfectly as possible.
This would include using a fine file to shave .01mm at a time.
As far as the bolts being to long... did the old bolts do that?
Brakes are the one thing that I do not take chances with.
I would rather not go in the first place than to have a possible problem stopping.
I'm with Kham, I'd file them down a bit more.

Well, I ended up taking about a thread and a half out and now the end of the bolt is flush with the caliper bracket, as it should be and the way the OEM bolts were.
Thanks for the input. (even Kham)
glad it worked out...
btw, a dremel is an awesome tool... far from low-tech![]()
