or at least someone with a shop manual.
I started to put a new clutch in my 97 maurader. I bought a manual for the intruder 800 because I was told the motor was the same and could use the spec's from the book. (it's also $35 cheaper than the maurader book and available.)
Well it's not even close, so I need to know the torque specs for the clutch bolts. The intruder only has 4 bolts, but my maurader has 8.
So anybody in the know,know?
anybody want a shop manual for the 800 intruder?

are you talking about the bolts with the springs that hold all the clutch plates together?

if they are...then i say you tighten them all the way down until they bottom out and i would guess something like 10ft/lbs or something. they are just 8/10mm bolts right?

I know nothing of the bike or situation, but 8/10 lb/ft would be my guess. Put some bloo loctite (#242 if available, oil resistant) just to be safe.
the answer to your question is yes they are those bolts. according to the manual for the intruder it is 8-9.5 ft-lbs. but 4 of the bolts in my maurader go into the clutch basket and the other 4 go into a kinda 4 pointed (think chinese throwing star) semi-slip washer type thingy ( I like to use techincal termsOriginally posted by SVRACER01

In the front of the manual there should be a generic listing for the torque of bolts based on the size. 8-10 lb/ft sounds about right. The most important thing is to make sure they are all torqued to the same value so you get even pressure across the plates. Good Luck...
