I figured I can't sell my gear, I'm no longer "not allowed" to ride with people of the male sex, so I might as well get another bike. If that doesn't work out, I'm gonna get boobs.

So if I do get a bike, I want it to be cheap-o. Does this craigslist seem real or a scam? Is the 1989 ok?? I don't have many wrenching capabilities but I can smile and flip my hair if something breaks...

Actually, it seems a bit pricey. It is 21 years old, after all. NADA doesn't even have data for an '89, and none earlier than '95, in fact (and the average retail for a '95 is just $990 at a dealer.) It sure looks good, though.

seems like a legit price for an 89. looks like a 16" rear wheel, so tire choices will be limited, but if you are not putting it on the track then it is not a big deal, and if you are, you can swap it to a 17"

i whould shy away from it... just the for the fact of the age. it could be in really good condition, but more than likely it is not. same goes with cars. a lot of effort and planning has to go into to have something like that last long. that engine could be garbage.. could have destroyed cylinder walls, bad compression...

I agree about it being a little too old...For about $2k you could get an EX500 that is 2002-2004. It's a slightly better bike - underwent modifications in 1994. I had a 2006 Lime green which was awesome! Old school technology, but everything worked well.
