That guy talks a mean game and I'm sure he was sitting behind his keyboard laughing all the while as he typed that post. Well, I've already forwarded his post on to Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) and I expect that it won't be long before he is apprehended by Delaware's finest. Who's laughing now Mr. Ronin???
For Joe Biden, Delaware has always come first. That's why he comes home to Delaware every night when Senate finishes its business. And that's why he is working so hard to make sure Delaware voices are heard in the halls of Congress and that our state receives its fair share of the budget pie.
As a parent, Joe Biden wants to ensure that our children can grow up in a safe environment and have the educational tools and skills they will need to meet the challenges of tomorrow. He knows the importance of clean air and clean water, and schools that are safe, in good repair, and well equipped. And on behalf of all senior Delawareans, he has spoken out to protect Social Security and Medicare.
Better add high-speed toll evaders to that list Joe.![]()

Cameras will still pick him up. I saw it on mythbusters so it must be true
Annotated Mythbusters: Episode 73: Beating the Speed Camera, Exploding Nitroglycerine Patches (with Defibrillators)
The Fast Lane/EZPass tags work up to about 150mph. That being said, chances are it didn't register the bikes if they went through one at a time. A tag read is triggered by an electromagnetic loop in the concrete (think big metal detector). As we all know by being stuck at a red light for 5 minutes with no change, sportbikes often don't have enough metal (and non-ferrous metal is harder to detect) close enough to the ground to trigger some of these loops. I don't even carry my tag in my bike anymore because my bike triggers a read less than 50% of the time. If it does trigger a tag read, they just snap a pic of my plate as I go through and it gets billed to my acct with no fine.
Doh....that explains it! I look like an idiot holding my EZ Pass above the screen in front of me as I go through at 20mph. The light never comes on...it's like I don't exist. Which, I now realize, I don't!!!
And if the second part is true I my life just got easier! Grazie!
(I somehow thought that the system was triggered by laser or something...my laser detector usually goes crazy when I go through...thats the camera, right?)

If you stay as far to the left or right of the lane as possible, you can minimize the amount of metal over the loop and maximize the chance of getting through undetected.
As far as why your laser detector goes off (as does mine), I believe it has something to do with the confirmation signs immediately after the toll and how the screens are updated. LIDAR guns shoot rapid pulses of light that are in the infrared band. Each column of pixels in the LED confirmation signs are multiplexed which means any one column is on for only a very short period of time. The rapid switching appears as a steady image to our eyes but the electronics in the detector see it as individual pulses. While the signals are clearly different, there is probably enough similarity to make the detector show a laser alert. MA doesn't have the display screens like NH and my laser detector doesn't go off when going through Mass Pike tolls.
Occasionally LED tail lights on cars will trigger a laser alert because they are turned on and off rapidly to modulate their brightness. Driving down a road where the sun is shining through the trees can set it off as well.
