Here are some photos of our recent family trip. We trailered the motorcycles to Denver and rode for 10 days, putting 2200 miles beneath our wheels. Awesome time.
ENJOY!
Excellent pics.
Those bikes are LOADED with stuff!!
awesome pics ken. how'd those bike ride with all that gear? hope you threw on some touring tires. Beautiful place isn't it?
Bras cause cancer.
Actually, the yellow dry packs on the back rack of my VFR carried 3 sleeping bags and spare shoes, totalling about 17 lbs. The saddle bags carried our clothes and the tank bag had camera, shields,, etc.
Caroline's YZF carried the 27 lb. (!) Family tent, the Thermarests as well as the camp stuff in one saddlebag and her clothes in another. The total weight on her bike was only about 70 lbs.
We both had Bridgestone 020s and they held up great. The handling was not any different than having a full-sized passenger on board.
Did I mention that the VFR ROCKS!

Wow, that looks like a great trip.
Lots of surface area with all the gear, any problem with crosswind?
No, Donny, these men are nihilists. There's nothing to be afraid of.

Says Vale to Colin at the end of the 2002 8 Hours of Suzuka: "Ok Colin, you better go out there and win. Because it is the ONLY way we will NEVER have to come here again!"
The crosswinds were a challenge, but not too bad.
Nice pics Ken! Jealousy has set in.

looks like a helluva time, Ken... most excellent!
I'm curious... didja hafta rig up the mounting bracket for the dry sack on the VFR yourself? or do they sell stuff like that for sporty-type bikes?
WWSD? (what would Sneakers do?)

The rack is off an old Honda 650 Nighthawk. I made some brackets to fit it to the VFR.
well that's not too bad. that's about what I carry when I go to NHIS for the weekend.Originally posted by Ken C

There are two bikes and 3 people because one of the people is only 14 years old. It'll be 3 bikes in a few years.
Looks like you're gonna have your hands full too, Ken. I'm in the same boat...Originally posted by Ken C
