anyone in MA have a cobbler they'd recommend? i have an odd one where i dont want my sole replaced (new ones not available), but add about a dime size area of rubber to the sole.
currently, the sole is flush with the screws for the screw-in soles and it wears out my footpegs very quickly.
Sidi Vortice if you're curious.
Cobbler... Not off the top of my head. I do have black shoe goo and an old tire.

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
If the goo doesn't do it, we have an old country old guy cobbler here in Arlington MA, people call him a magician, he's done some good work for me, reasonable prices, usually asks you to leave it for a week. Busy crowded area, some good eateries in the same block.

And don't believe everything you think.
Not sure where you are in MA, but if you are near the NH border, there is the Town Cobbler in Methuen and Completely Heeled Shoe Repair in Salem, NH. I haven't had the need for a cobbler but I have multiple friends and acquaintances that have used these two businesses and had great results.

That's my thought as well. It doesn't wear great but bonds very well. I had work boots that had different rubber on the soles for wear pads. They would separate and I would shoe go them back in place and never worry about it again. I used to have a different style of hiker work boots that the sole would separate on the side of the ball of the foot from flexing. Sole to leather bonded great. I'd find a piece of rubber to cut to fit, fill the hole with shoe goo, press in the piece, wipe it, then trim over flow with a razor when it dries

I ran Sidi Vortice for over a decade. The entire sole came off on both boots and couldn't get it to stay on even with tons of shoe glue. Instead of spending money on a cobbler I ended up getting Supertechs and don't miss the Vortice; walking in the them was always a chore.
I got a pair of worn boots with still good Vibram soles you can have to cut off and glue to your boots

I know, I owned them for over a decade. I misspoke, the entire bottom of the boot separated... Replaceable bits and all. I worry yours may suffer the same fate soon but hopefully not. My point was I never found them very comfortable off the bike. Your rearsets must be made of knives and daggers to go through so quickly -- are they vortex?
i use woodcraft rearsets. i never walk around in the boots, so it's never been an issue.
i'm wearing out the pegs because a section of rubber on the full sole wore out and a screw is digging into the footpeg.
that's what this post is about. how can i fix that small section of worn rubber, so i dont wear out my pegs so quickly
