that's why manual transmissions rule. 5th to 3rd then watch there eyes get real big in the mirror.

    Wait just a minute...

For the record (and the haters): I definitely was not tailgating this guy. He started to change lanes and I began to move past him at that time. During that moment of my attempt to pass, this guy started to stradle the lanes at which point forcing me to brake and back off. Yes, I did get close to him, albeit not on purpose. How was I to know that he'd make a half lane change just as I attempted to pass him?

FWIW; I'm a mostly-patient driver, I just travel alot faster than the general public. No stress for me while I'm behind the wheel, that I'm sure of.

I do damn close to the same thing now, except I usually do around 70 on the 65 speed zones. I'm turning into an old man, except that I refuse to drive under the limit.

i was reading an article one time about some road racer (car) guy that had a switch to turn off the brake lights in his car. someone got too close hed brake a little early for a turn and BAM! busted radiator

    It's the "other guy" defense.

I ain't trippin' y0. I can see how my post mislead you. Sorry 'bout that.

I already know I'm a bad driver but I usually straighten right up after a few beers down at the Foxhole.

Re: What do you consider "tailgating"?

My definition of tailgating really depends on what I'm driving. I'm a lot more confident in the car than I am on the bike. The zx6r has great brakes but so does the Evo. The ambulance not so much so I tend to hang back a bit. Driving in the US is so messed up anyway compared to Europe. People would rather sit in the fast lane and bitch about you "tailgating them" instead of simply moving over a lane and letting you by. No blood no foul in my book.
