ok well i was looking for an easy way to strip paint off the farrings being plastic most paint strippers will eat through them well i found out that dot 3 brake fluid will strip the paint with no harm to the plastic. i read it on another website and decided to try it and to my amazement it worked just thaught id share that

I would caution about getting the plastics REAL CLEAN after you strip the paint or the new paint will bubble up faster than a herpes sore...

Its caustic and will eat right thru plastic also SO NO>>>>>>Sand it down properly and prep....

Nothing cuts time when doing Body work Ever....just seems that way untill you paint and the shit doesn't stick ...

As the saying goes - It's called body work, not body fun...

If you find a paint stripper in a plastic bottle - theres a good chance you can use it on plastic parts (most of the time). Check on a scrap piece if you can before stripping the entire good piece.

Is it a racebike or a street bike?

Racebike, knock the chipped paint flecks off hit it with some 100 then 150 grit and spray it with Krylon

Street bike, Spend the time to do proper bodywork. There is no need to sand all the paint off if it is in good shape and paint it according to manufactures specifications.
