as some of u might know, i FINALLY sold my goldwing this spring and now ride a 98 honda VFR....i have put on about 2500 miles or so since mid july on the VFR....i have learned to live with the throttle tingle, but im finding that the seat pretty much sucks...after about an hour and 20 minutes i have to take a break....i was wondering how many of u guys have broken down and purchased an aftermarket seat...and if so, are u satisfied and/or happy with your new seat?.....i was also wondering if an aftermarket seat could be found at a place like argo cycles in hookestt....any thought or ideas are appreciated....thanks!!

Look up benvfr, he had a corbin on his vfr. He will surely give you his opinion. I have a corbin for the RC and it is a must have as the stocker seat is really onabout 1/2 inch thick and sucks.
Before you buy a corbin you might want to check out this thread.. very interesting, i may do this over a Corbin..

I have a Sargent on my 748 and it has made a HUGE difference as far as comfort goes.

I have a corbin seat on both my bikes. I love them no more ass burn after 45 minutes of riding.
You suck at life. Why don't you quit?
My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.
I have the SV650S and have had all three seats.
Stocker ... did get better after 8k miles but still a pain in the ass.
Corbin ... Now remember this opinion is for my bike model only!
I found the Corbin to be very heavy and well built. It was very comfortable for my butt ... HOWEVER ... it moved my ass back and that consequently put more weight on my wrists. My wrists were killing me after a hundred or so miles. It also lowered my ass and since I am 6'2" and don't need a lower seat, it made my knees ache cause they were bent more.
Don't get me wrong ... the Corbin is a great seat for a NUDE 650 that has regular bars and a more upright position. I sold mine to an ole timer that has a nude bike and he loves it.
Sargent ... why in the hell did I wait so long before buying one!
Maybe it is cause I am cheap and wanted to get a used one.
This seat is the cats ass ... my butt starts hurting, I move an inch
or two and the pressure is redistributed. It also does not cut the
inside of my thighs like the Corbin did when standing at lights.
The seat is as light if not lighter than the stock seat. Very well
built and the foam they use is as perfect as they advertise.
As far as I am concerned ... Sargent has a lifelong customer here!
I have done several 500 to 600 mile days ... I may be a little stiff,
but no where in the amount of pain I used to be in with half that
mileage!
I have a corbin on my superhawk and I love it. I give corbin the fatass comfort stamp of approval.

I ended up buying that seat off him for my VFR.Originally posted by skiierx

He didn't like it, because while wearing textiles you slide around, and he didn't think it was much more comfortable than stock. However, I find it MUCH better for long rides. Like you said, on the stock seat about 1hr in, it starts killing your ass. The Corbin is a big improvement, just doesn't fatigue me nearly as much. It's a lot heavier than the stock seat, so obviously less vibration is being transferred to you.

I had a corbin on the ninja 600R and I loved it: more comfortable and better for long rides.
I have a sargent on my '95 fzr600 and so far I haven't really noticed a difference, except that I slide around on the seat really easily with my textile riding pants.
I have a Corbin on my TL and love it.
I have a Sargent on the Tuono and am looking to replace it with a Corbin.

I've got a Sargent and I love it! For me (6'2" 175lbs), it distributes my weight over a larger area of derriere, greatly increasing my range. I used to get but burn around 100-150 miles with the stocker, now, my 300 mile days don't hurt at all. Rather than being flat like the stocker, the Sargent has a bit of a dish shape to it, making it sit a bit flatter than sotck, so you don't feel as much like your sitting on a slant. I've done two track days with it, and it doesn't hinder mobility in the slightest. Some people have complained about the slick texture while wearing textile gear, but I kinda like it. Easy to move around on the track. Easy to reposition on the street. I've never felt like I was going to slip out of position. Highly reccomend it!

I did not buy a Corbin for my Gixer....

He said they would fix it....
I don't understand what do you mean fix...
We would fix it.....
Repeat 4 times...

I had a corbin on my 94 FZr1000 and loved it, a bit heavier than stock seat but way more comfortable and you can pick your own colors.
it seems to be unanimous. Corbin and Sargant .

I have a Sargent seat and I love it, very comfortable and has made my rc51 a lot more beareable.

I have a Corbin on my Hayabusa and have taken some long rides that lasted all day.
Worth the upgrade.
I guess you either have a Corbin ass or a Sargent ass!

I had a corbin on my fireblade and liked it, I just ordered one for my TLS.
You have a PM.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
I have a corbin on my Sprint and it is a huge improvement over the stock triumph seat.
But it is hard as hell even after riding on it for 5000 miles.
