NEVER DO THE MATH!
I did the math ONCE on my CRF70... other than the money I spent doing the math was one of the dumber decisions I ever made.
There's 2 thought trains going here - First: If you work hard and earn the money and have your bills and responsibilities taken care of on the home front - this is 'extra' money. You work for a reason. You can't take it with you... Second: You never see a motorcycle parked outside a therapists office...
Never do the math - Motorcycles (raced or just ridden on the road), bicycles, flyrods (add up what a tackle box has in it - it's scary), ski's, etc. They're all money tossed in the air and walked away from. But - it's called a hobby and living.

Wirelessly posted
Since that year I've done some expensive maint on the 749r at Seacoast including belts, valves and a new clutch. I also ended up with new bodywork and a paint job.
Not much else new besides gloves and boots so my coat per mile has to have come down dramatically.
Btw cost per mile is cumulative so even if you bought the bike last year it is still a factor in the official calculation.

I prefer to measure smiles per mile.....
“It's 2 minutes for any capable adult.”
i cant remember what i spent on gas, the tires on the track bike are take off so they were free, and i didnt spend any money on a hotel at all. so it seems this last season cost me oil and a filter...so what...$50? whats $50 divided by 500? $.10 per lap?
next season will be oil, filter, counter shaft seal, chain and sprockets....so under $200

^ hate you
1/2 my money I spent on Liquor and Women, the rest I just wasted.
I quickly over a long life got on the far side of a 100K with regular bikesand stopped counting
The calculus of hate
It is not that I should win it is that you should lose
It is not that I succeed it is that you fail
It is not that I should live it is that you should die
you gotta do it in your lifetime!
come off the main straight topped out in 6th, brake hard and load the front end, click down 3 gears, pop the clutch while feathering the rear brake to get a smooth controlled rear slide, and WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
(he's not sliding in this pic though)
used maybe 2-1/2 gallons of 2-stroke pre-mix today...ran 20 min sessions about 4-5 times before I got tired and went home...track day fee $30...tires will be good for the next year...so I'd say it's pretty cheap!

$30 track days?!? FU.. just.. FU.
Still. His 'membership' fee is 25% of mine. And I pay more than 7 times as much for a day. Oh, and he can ride any day of the week? Yeah, I'd 'downgrade' to a kart track for that.
