I just booked a Piaggio MP3 250 (they did not have the bigger engines) for my trip to ft lauderdale. Has anyone ridden one? anything i should know? I hear that they are a blast! I went with this model because it is the only thing to rent in Lauderdale that is not a harley

Prefferably a tutu!make sure you wear pink!
I was down there a few weeks ago and it was impossible to find anything but a harley to rent. I saw some scooter places, but they were renting crappy chinese scooters and these weird scooter car things. I didn't end up renting anything.

I've never tried a MP3 but think it would be blast to ride.
Years ago I rented a Fatboy or Deuce or something for a day near Orlando. I rode it over to the Kennedy Space Center and along the coast. I liked it a lot more than expected. The roads are straight and flat, so just chugging along comfortably was perfect for a beautiful spring day.
If you're just tooling around town, the MP3 would be fun to try, but if you're going any distance, especially on the highway, I'd consider renting a HD.

I hear these are great scoots... I was looking into one as a pit bike because you don't have to worry about sidestands, etc... but it still leans like a bike.
Unfortunately, they are a bit pricey.![]()
I rode Seacoasts a year ago. Fun...a little weird but I'm sure after a bit it would seem natural!

They rent those scooter car things in Newport RI also. My cousin is a firefighter there. He said he's surprised no ones been run over by a bus yet.

I've seen an MP3 on Storrow and they do lean! It's interesting. I'd like to try one out if I had a chance just to see the technology.
I hope they do catch on... Not everybody is skilled enough to ride a 2-wheeler, and it seems like a great way to get more cages off the roads.

well, i just brought it back to the dealer as we are leaving tomorrow...
THIS THING IS A F'IN RIOT!!! It turns quick like a scooter but it is way more stable. You can chuck this thing into a turn at sportbike speeds no problem and it will do every bit of its 77mph top speed. Also we managed to fit a 12 pack of Coors lite along with a helmet (Full Face) a pair of shoes and a hoody with room to spare in the trunk/underseat. Anyone who gets a chance should definitely ride one
glad you had fun! It does look like it would be a hoot to ride

Yeah, they are fun as hell to ride.. just glad to hear you never dropped it! (as crazy as that sounds). Used to push one around all the time when working at GBM. When they arent on, the suspension doesnt move, so they are very easy to high side when going over any form of bump or anything. Came pretty close a few times. But yet I had no problem pushing a fully-dressed Goldwing backwards![]()
