    Short vid on helmet noise

Hope this isn't a repost. If so, many apologies betches!

BikerPunks.com - The Leader In Motorcycle Videos, Sportbike Videos, Motorcycle Crashes and Stunts- - MCN talks about helmet noise and how it happens

Recommends earplugs at high speeds due to the decibel level.

Re: Short vid on helmet noise

Last season I only rode twice without earplugs and it sucked (short trips). I don't know how people can do it.

Between the wind noise and the SV's roar I can't see my hearing lasting too long, especially with the amount of highway miles I did.

I figured I might try earplugs this year, but does it affect you guys at all? Both street and track? Street I dont think itd bother me, but does it ever bother you at the track? Between hearing your revs or if bikes are trying to poke around the outside of you?

Interesting video, I just want to go right out now to spend $400-$500 on a new helmet. I feel so bad, I only have a $90 helmet right now.

I am so cheap, until it comes to something I want, to heck with what the Wife wants! She already blew $54,000.00 on a new kitchen & windows for the house. I just have to hate her for now!

So if I move out? Do I get to keep my toys?
Dude, keep the cheaper helmet. Once your hearing is completely gone, you won't have to listen to her shit anymore!!!!

Jeez...I might start riding with hearing aids for that purpose alone!!!! Plus, I've either already lost some of my hearing or the new pipe toned itself down a bit as it was brand-spanky last time we rode.

    +1

anything above 35mph is too loud for me, so if I ever don't wear ear plugs I feel naked (well, on my ears)

Re: Short vid on helmet noise

...and remember, a helmet isn't noisy. its the environment that you put it in that makes it noisy.....

    FUKIN BRILLIANT....

If a helmet is traveling at 114 kph and there's no one there to hear it is it still a noisy environment????

Re: Short vid on helmet noise

i dont wear them on the street....the noise hasn't really bothered me. but on the track....i tried wearing them once and never looked back. i can't go on a track without them at all, it drives me nuts and i can't concentrate.

for anybody that doesn't wear them on the track, it seriously must be worth almost a second off your lap time once you get used to wearing them.
