Hi everyone,
First post here, and getting back into riding after a long time off. I have a 2002 CBR 600f4i with 7000 miles. When warmed up and under load I hear a rattling noise at about 4500 to 5000 rpm's. My fear is that this is the cam chain tensioner going south (or that I am going insane, and hearing things). Anyone with experience on this please help if you can.
Thanks in advance...

For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction - and sometimes a scar...
Cam chain tensioner is going south.
Not a big deal, just replace it or see if Honda will do it on warranty.

Thanks for the response. The parts are on order (cam chain lift and gasket) and should be here in about 1 week. No warrenty, I am the second owner, and it is over a year old. Didn't hurt to ask though. Now the magic question. How concerned should I be about riding the bike making this noise?
Thanks in advance.

Don't be concerned, it's not a big deal as long as the noise isn't getting crazy loud.

Yup, that was it. $60 ish in parts and the noise is gone. I think the whole job would have gone much faster if I hadn't dropped the lower bolt down into the bike. DOHHH!! Oh well, at least I know how to take the fairing off now... Thanks for the help.
