forward air. they provide the crate, you provide the tie downs and the bike. crate also locks

Yup, got my Busa from Toledo using foward air.
If all else fails, Lean more....
Make the crate...it's easy and prolly alot cheaper
coupla PT 4-bys for runners, some 2x10's on top and lags to hold it all together...done!
I have an aluminum palate that was used to get my bike here from SD...
not using it. could let it go...
I used BAXGlobal.com for my shipment
forward air quoted me 550 from tampa to upstate ny, and the same thing for a bike from texas to upstate ny using one of their metal crates. Other freight companies were well over 550 by a few hundred bucks no crate no nothing. A few of the freight companies were going to use a big pallet and just put it in the back of a semi with other goods. no way i was going to do that. that or try uship.com the mom and pop outfits were a good bet. i just ended up finding a bike locally.

Not really interested in making my own crate.. The buyer wil pay forward air..

forward air is easy too, just drop it off at the airport and strap it into the crate and off it goes. they have a terminal at logan and i think tf green, not sure on tf green but def. sure on logan

You can get door to door shipping from these guys for about the same price as Forewrd Air:
Motorcycle shipping, motorcycle transport, motorcycle transportation, motorcycle shippers
BMW R1200GS
UShip.com is pretty cool. I was going to use them but the time frames just didnt work out. Its worth a look.
I paid $430 from SD to here with BAXGlobal. It arrived all alone in the back of a Semi truck after being flown into Manchester.
I thin forward air is in Chelsea. If the buyer is paying save yourself the Hassle and let them deal with it

Doesn't Hobbs do shipping? He used to have the crates I think too.
you could always stop into a dealer and ask if you could have a crate. they probably just throw them out anyway

Totally leave it to the buyer. I shipped an 86 GSXR to Honolulu. The buyer left it to me to do the crating (which we did right, becuase we couldn't bear the thought of the thing getting beat up). It was a ROYAL pain in the ass, but i don't remember who we used.
My advice: have them make ALL the arrangements. use a company that will come to your door and crate it and take it away without you having to touch it. this way, too, if soemthing happens on the way, the shipper is responsible and not you.
