Had a road trip to Hampton Beach today to pick up my new Bike. Darkduc tagged along to look at a track bike in Somerworth.
We made good time on the way down, almost got run off the road by a stupid bitch near Lebanon (I then returned the favor) and got to the Beach around 11:30.
The bike I got was a 2008 Ducati S2R1000 with only 457 miles on it! It still has the nubs on the tires! This is the newest bike I have ever owned and I got it for a steal! Friggin SWEET!
We had to stop at the beach for the obligatory pics then it was off to Somersworth.
Called Oxx to have him come look at a 2000 SV650 Darkduc was looking at as a track bike. The bike has a Ducati fully adjustable front end and a Devil pipe. Beat up but seemed to run fine. Oxx and Amanda gave the thumbs up and Darkduc handed over the cash. Another great deal was loaded into the back of my truck.
Back home to Vermont and put the Duc to bed, Passenger pegs removed woodcraft clutch cover installed and Polish applied.![]()

Wonder how long it'll be before this one is for sale![]()
yeah, itll pull track duty for me next season, and i hope to take a stab at racing it...but that all depends on time and money situations next spring...gonna try and buy a house
hes just jealous
how dare you! youre bike was leaning towards mine the whole ride home! it was like "finally i found my beast of a man" and the sv was like "girl, no one's put it to you like you need it, im gonna get the job done right"
great trip today, we both got good deals. and now, i want a monster again after seeing this shiny new one...the 749's days might be numbered.
lots of work to do to the sv, but im happy to have a winter project that will make a good track bike with the possiblility of racing it. time to sell the f2...

Nice snag Doc. If you can, find a shop to dial in the cam timing, you can retard them a touch from factory and it'll smooth it out, shift the power band down slightly and make it a total blast on the street. (And your mpg will improve too.)
Congrats, Doc! Ride it to Bike Night tomorrow.

Core your stock pipes if you just want to release the Monster growl. If you want the different aesthetics and lighter weight of the aftermarket pipes then pony up the $. I just had the single big can on the M900 and I didn't mind the stock look. It was a lot of fun setting off car alarms though...
It doesn't look like I'm going to make BN tonight to check out the new beast. I have someone coming to look at the trailer at 5:30/6 and I still need to go to Monkton to vote.
