The latest issue of Sport Rider has some tire comparisons/feedback that may be of interest to road riders. One data point I found of slight interst was the difference in width between the Power and the Power 2CT.
Thanks ChR1s. The fit of the PP{180/55-17} with my old gixxer is pretty darn close. Definately worth a look.
So according the SR tests, the 2CTs didnt not fare all that much better than the plain old vanilla Pilot Powers.
In fact, Kent and Trevitt both seemed to lap the same or better on plain Powers at the track and the Powers were more compliant on the street.
hmm...
Well mine are in the basement waiting for the first spring track day...well see.
I just really wanna try out the 190/55 tire...to feel the easier turn-in due to the taller profile

If you look down, you go down. That may be fun at an orgy, but it sucks on a bike

you left out that the temp went up from cool to extra hot.
If money is the root of all evil,
why do churches beg for it?
I too, want to try the 2CTs, but I'm not the least bit worried about any possible speed improvement. I just like the idea of a little more traction insurance when I'm on the deck, on a track day. I'm pretty happy with the regular PPs and I probably am not pushing them to their limits, but a little extra traction to cover my butt isn't a bad thing.
If you want trackday grip buy some takeoffs. Race tires are for use on the racetrack. Rain tires are super soft, you don't see people using those on the street or trackdays for extra grip.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
