New DOT board in Massachusetts good or bad

    www.massdot.state.ma.us

Massachusetts combines all their DOT boards to save money and make it easier to pay citations, renew registrations, mass pass, etc.

    Is this good or bad?

buracracies are what they are, buracracy

at first, they promise to streamline things, and it may even seem like things get done

but burcracies never get smaller, they always grow, when they get efficient that they could get smaller, they grow by legislating more red tape

I say, revolt, be the best anarchist that you can

well, let's see their startup costs....

    - Rebadging all vehicles
    - Updating all signs
    - Reprinting all stationary
    - Not laying off a single person although I'm sure they'll be redundant positions

Oh look, not one of those has a positive feel to my wallet as a tax payer.

I would have been for it IF it were not run by the same people that run our current transportation "stuff"

Chairman of DOT is the same guy that ran the Turnpike Authority... I think 5 out of the 7 office positions are held by current transport chairpersons.

They are a "Reform" organization which means we are still screwed in terms of finances and revenue. It costs literally billions of dollars per year to simply maintain our roads (and what beautiful roads they are )

Bottom line, we wont see shit from this organization for several years, if ever.

You know what i take back what i said in my opening statement...

Wow that sounds awful expensive. Do you think they might need a few extra coins from my pocket directly?

I think it will probably suck in the long run. They closed a ton of DMVs around here, and the only one they kept open is TERRIBLE (and was overcrowded prior to the closings).

It's 2009 and you STILL have to pay cash for most transactions. Seriously?

If you didn't pay cash it would be harder to cover up the corruption in the back room.
