Not sure how it will be compared to the no longer built WR250X. The Yamaha might have been a bit higher spec, but the Kaw is under $6K. Might be a hoot.

Didn’t they make a sm version of their previous 250?

I'd hit it.
I love Love LOVE me some supermoto, and it's great to see more available options, kudos to kawa for the effort. But for the tech & $$$ of this thing if I was counting $$$ and looking for a small cc bike I'd have a hell of a time choosing this over the KTM Duke or Adventure 390's for the same $$$.
And while I get the MFG has to print something for new product releases highlighting the specs, WTF is this line:
Complementing the new KLX300SM adventure capabilities is a fine-tuned seat design for added comfort on longer rides and a 33.8-inch seat height for increased stability when stopped.
How much is this thing?
5600 for the dual sport, 6k for the sm.

Sadly the Japanese companies will never come out with a real Supermoto. The Kawi looks heavy and bulky, and is likely underpowered...kinda like tossing some 17s on a klr 650 and calling it a supermoto. I’ll pass
Yamaha
Kind of weird this is in road racing world seeing as how it doesn't fit in 250 lites and would get smoked against a 450. And it looks like it's in street trim.

Yeah, back in 2009ish they had a KLX250SF, a sumo version of the dualsport KLX250S.
It’s cool that they upgraded the 250 to a 300, but the (very reasonably priced) aftermarket 351cc kits have been around for so long with such positive feedback. So you might as well get a very lightly used EFI 2018-2020 250, spend another ~$750 on the 351 kit and have more oomph for less money. Unless you absolutely wanted the sumo version.
