Time to get new tires and I'm thinking about trying the Dunlop Qualifiers. Right now, I have Pirelli Diablo's on my Hayabusa. Any thoughts on the Qualifier and possibly how the Pirelli Diablo and the Dunlop Qualifiers might compare with respect to milage and traction.

i got 4k on them and 2 trackdays before i got a nail in my rear...
i wasn't planning on bringing them up to the track anymore as they were toasted but i felt confident i could get about 1k more out of them on the street.
its just my .02 but I really didn't like them all that much - i have had dunlop 208's, Pilot Powers, these Qualifiers and now i have dunlop 208 sportmax - I have liked the pilot powers by far the most for street and track use... the qualifiers seemed to just let go at track without any warning - my buddy runs the diablos and he liked them better than the qualifiers too
i guess in my experience it seems all tires are getting so advanced that my complaints are really kind of minor as they all performed well, just some better
hope I helped a bit
On my ZRX with 130hp/86ft#'s I ran Diablos and switched to Qualifiers.
The Qualifiers stick much better and get more miles before the sides are worn down. Over in NY a corner that would get a 100' darkie with the Diablo would require me to go down a gear and get way up on the thottle to leave any trace of a darkie at all. Qualifiers were better for me in every comparison. Regards, Jake

I've only used the 208s, so I can't answer your question. I guess you could say I'm not qualified.
I'm in the same boat as Honklefukker, but from what I've gathered, the general consensus is they perform like Pilot Powers but w/ a shorter life span.
What kind of riding do you do? Stick with the Diablo or if you don't ride on the track, the Diablo Strada.

pete pete petedid you not read the first thing he wrote???
have the Diablo's and I am finding that I get about 4K miles out of them. I was thinking of something that was a little stickier because the Diablo does slide a little bit out of the turns. Unfortunately, this is probably due to my lack of throttle control and available horsepower. Most of my riding is on back roads, I try to stay off the highway as much as possible. I would say that I ride at a slower "spirited" pace. Looking for something with a little more traction. I wanted to try the Pilot Powers or 2ct's, but they are not easy to get right now. I don't ride the track, but intend to take a few track days in the future.

I would not have any trouble doing a track day on the Qualifiers. Regards, Jake

technically it could work either way, I didn't say first sentence I said first thing which could in fact refer to the entire post, within which he did state that he in fact has pirellis so.... back to what I said same difference![]()
Tell ya what... If you want I can just change my post from "Try the" to "Stick with the" and then you'll REALLY look crazy. Yeah, think i'll do that now.![]()

i've never ridden diablo street tires but i loved my qualifiers when i had them. i thought they were a huge upgrade from the 208s i had prior.
now i just run my own race takeoffs, which are also dunlops
haha touche my friend touche.
I am about to try the diablo's on my R1 and my R6 at the track and street in a week or so and expect good things from them. Had the corsa III on my old 600rr and loved them as a street tire and track tire.
My R6 came with qualifers stock (just like smooth r6) and while they are good tires I did get some slippage from them on the track (somewhat predictable). However keep in mind the '06 R6 stock qualifers are of a similiar but slightly different compound than what you would buy aftermarket. And from what I've heard the qualifers don't last that long (you should see my rear after 2 td).

If you look down, you go down. That may be fun at an orgy, but it sucks on a bike
5 track days and 1000 street miles on my Qualifiers, I think thay last almost as well as the Powers with way more notice before a slide.
