So you bought a field armor vest for what like $100. For a little more money you could have gotten a decent jacket.

I was expecting you to be a little bit older as to the title "Went down for the first time"
Meaning like you had been riding for a long time. Although I hate to read that you got rashed up, if you had a leather jacket on, you wouldn't have a scratch! Hope you learned a little lesson kid. Wear your gear! And I'm not trying to be a dink!
I met a young guy yesterday at a benefit ride who had a big baindaid on the back of his head, and his right lower leg all wrapped up in gauze cause the dumbass did a wheelie in NH (no helmet law) and flipped the bike! No gear, plenty of pain on the way!

Do they still teach English courses in high school anymore? Or is it an elective now?
Anyway, I got the gist that you went down... on your bike (not in bed) and that you are ok. That's good, now take it as a lesson and learn from it better than you did in English class!![]()
Apparently not:

Here's the problem, "but that's not so much a question of language ability as of judgment." I developed almost my own entirely new written language within a 7 month span at The Basic School from writing 15 page operations orders in 3 hours. If I hadn't abbreviated just about every single word, it would have taken me double that to finish an order (we had to hand write them). I can spew more Marine Corps jargon than Jenna Jameson could swallow, but it doesn't mean I go around talking like a Jarhead everywhere I go. ohh well, what are you going to do?
the only reason i got the field armor cause it was only 20 bucks on craiglit,nd for ery1 that wants to talk some shit keep it 2 urself u wasnt there,i wasnt speedin or doin any wheelies or any of that dum shit,if u dnt know me or how i ride and got suttin negative to say keep it to urself
eeaaassssyyyy there 'squattin' dawg,' nobody's talking negative about you're riding. And you're right, none of us were there, so we can't really comment as to how you ride in the first place. The only things that have been suggested here is that you pick up some good gear, primarily a decent jacket, and that you make some attempt to write in proper English so that I don't have to copy and paste your comments into a TXT.exe translation program in order to read them. As we've all said already, we're glad to hear that you're ok. Everybody puts the shiny side down at one time or another, it's the physics of having two wheels.
i know thats not 2 ery 1 i was just sayin and thanks niles for the sugesstions,im working on getting a jacket and sorry for the retarted typin,i tex alot so it comes out like that, and it dosnt hel that im on the internet on my phone aswell

Telling you to get better gear is not a negative thing. You should try to take it constructivly. Your skin on your arms are worth a lot more than 20 bucks right?

Ok lets clear this glorified wipe out up.... (take a few breaths) we where going through the center of chicopee on to front street.. we turned the corner are there was some newly paved road. we figured they finished the whole thing...(wrong) i was right behind DJ when he hit the gravel and he did hit his break and then put his feet down but by then it was to late his tire was already on its way down.......(have another breath) It was large gravel pieces and it was very loose and i think he also got stuck in a rot that was filled with gravel so it was twice as bad.
I didn't lock up gravel was so loose that my bike just slipped ouy by the way virus how's the hip man
Sore... I went back down to that corner and there was a big slick of oil or something right on the line
Ok... what language is this guy speaking and can we get a fvcking translator in here?
Sorry you had an off but for God's sake, learn to at least type, maybe use some punctuation? Don't keep apologizing, just try harder!
Like the others said, proper gear. Sounds like a simple and honest accident so it's good to hear that it turned out well and you were able to still ride. Others have been a LOT less fortunate.
Ride safe!

It was probably my post that fired these guys up and I could apologize but I won't. I started the post saying I was sorry that he crashed and I am. I wouldn't wish that on anyone which is why I followed it up with questions about what happened. Whatever was done, didn't work. I would rather learn from the misfortune of someone else than repeat it myself. The rest of the sarcasm in this thread probably came for a few other reasons.
First, it was titled, "I just went down for the 1st time." Maybe I was the only one who thought we had some sort of veteran rider that crashed but after a lil' checking it turns out he made it a whopping 2 years before his first crash. That's not a lot of riding regardless of how he spins it. For reference, my first crash thread was 3 years ago, I'm 44 and there are plenty of riders with better records than mine.
Second, his spelling, punctuation and grammar were horrible. He justified it like he's the only one on this forum that sends text messages. Again, wrong.
Third, he blamed the road for his misfortune. It is ALWAYS the rider's fault because every accident can be avoided somehow. If a rider plans to live as long as many on this board, that's a lesson that will have to be learned. Whether it's traveling slower than one's reaction time or leaving yourself an out, something can always been done differently to prevent it from happening more than once.
Getting defensive about it also shows his immaturity.
Things to take away for this...
1. Wear gear.
2. It is not if you are going to crash but when.
3. Humility is best. Getting defensive with the 'You don't know me or how I ride" BS is just silly. We all know how you ride.
With all that said... Take this last part to heart.
I am glad you are ok, sounds like a difficult crash to recover from and many of us may have went down as well. Keep riding and maybe go take a course or even get to the track.
Good luck man! Don't take all this the wrong way. Believe it or not we are trying to help.

Brutal honesty is the only way you will become a better rider.
Bullshit yourself and you will keep making the same mistake over and over and over.
If loud pipes save lives, imagine what learning to ride would do.
Sorry to here you about your misfortune. Glad you are ok and you can still ride. I agree you should get gear. I understand sometimes money can be tight. But when riddeing a motorcycle you can pay now for gear or sometime later things might happen. Yes it is better to sweat than slide on skin.
