I rode last night. It was between 10-15 degrees (Fahrenheit) out.
All I wore was a long sleeve shirt under my motorcycle jacket and 2 pairs of pants.
My neck froze. My hands froze (underneath gloves). My face froze. My ankles froze. My upper body could feel cold air trying to tear through the jacket at 60mph. My thighs could feel wind through the 2 layers of pants.
But I did schoolwork ALL day, and it was damn well worth it![]()
Otherwise, if you're very careful of sand, and black ice (note: black ice is how my friend went down), bundling up, heated grips, a heated liner, and a good windscreen makes cold riding doable.
oh ya.... there's a good number of us who have all that... I don't but i still rode into the first week of Dec... coldest i think i rode was in the high 20's, and that was highway riding... Not something i'd like to do again w/o heated gearOriginally posted by Bhavesh

but now that it's warming up & i don't have to get on the highway to get to work anymore, i should be riding pretty soon.

RIP A.B. RIP BEET, I Ride in Leathers because I would rather sweat than Bleed...
If he saw me earlier last week it was in the back of my truck. I got it together and had to take her out. It wasnt bad as far as cold, I had thermals, jeans and ski pants, long sleeve and 2 short sleves under my jacket, head wrap and neck wrap. Only thing cold was my toes. A quick half way stop at Dunkins helped that out.Originally posted by Half Squid

I rode my mountain bike like 4 hours yesterday. It was plenty warm for that. I had an awesome ride.
Got to try my studded tires on a couple of frozen ponds, blast through some mud, snow, etc..
Yes, but you had to pedal, and what the hell is the fun in that??Originally posted by benVFR

Yes, it's doable. But it's not really desireable. I left the bike registered over the winter. I won't (if there is a) next year.Originally posted by OreoGaborio
