Cool, I'll look into it. Most of the time, I have an issue with my hands before the rest of my body... so maybe the next project/purchase is heated grips/gloves?
I'm up in the air about something like the Olympia Phantom suit in hi-vis... on the one hand I like the hi-vis... on the other... I feel goofy... then... maybe being seen isn't so goofy? Doesn't someone on here own that very suit...?
I took the 1098 out around town today to run errands. It's the time of year where you can really apreciate the heat from the underseat exhaust on those things. I was nice and toasty, with the exception of my fingers. I need to hook up a heated gear connector to the 1098 just for gloves.
Heated grips make a HUGE difference. Think of your hands as little radiators -- if they're cold, the bloodflow through them will lower your core temperature. If they're hot, the bloodflow will raise your core temperature.
You can get Symtec grip heaters for $30 -- worth every penny, and then some.

I haven't taken the bike out since Tuesday night. It wasn't so much the cold that was bothering me as it was bothering the bike. I got sick of putting it on the charger every night. Anyone that knows the one problem with the charging system on a 748 knows why my battery kept dying out on me. Easy fix and I'll do it over the winter but I'm done for the season. Except for the last ride on Sunday to my storage garage. Not a bad season though, well over 8,000 miles from late May till now.

I haven't put mine away yet. Not doing much riding lately, but I will take it out for a short spin or two on warmer days until the sand&salt trucks hit the roads.

I put my bike away last weekend. Haven't driven a car at all since March. My commute to work has been longer lately (1 1/2 hrs) and i leave around 5:30 AM i had a couple real cold rides lately. I put the car back on the road and man does it feel weird driving a car this week. Been kinda nice having the heat on, listening to the radio and drinking a coffee i have to admit. Although i have driven everywhere with my window down cause i haven't got used to not having fresh air blowing on me all the time.
I refuse to give it up, thermals under the leather suit and I'm going for it today. No sand or salt to worry about yet, I guess ice is my main enemy.
Maybe I'll ride from coffee shop to coffee shop.![]()

Today wasn't so bad except for the wind bursts. Thermal undies, leather and my neoprene face mask/balaclava made it enjoyable.
