So I've heard this topic spoken a lot about for the past couple of years. Mass Law doesn't prohibit One eye individuals riding on motorcycles or cars as long as they can pass the vision and peripherals test. Just wondering on your opinions .02
I've got a buddy with one eye and he's got no problems riding. He's also done a bunch of circle track racing so I don't see a problem.
Well, to be honest, I'd rather a one eyed individual to be on a bike. They can cause a lot more damage in a car.

I rather have a one eye's guy on the road than some of those old fuckers who keep driving through buildings 'n' shit.
There's a one-armed guy named Adam who used to show up to Bike Night pretty regularly. I think it was his right arm that was missing; he moved the throttle to the left handlebar and was very good at rolling on the throttle while releasing the clutch with the same hand. Brakes were linked via the rear brake lever.

My mom was telling me that last weekend, a guy's artificial leg fell off of his Harley on 93S in NH and caused a huge traffic jam. I LOLed.

I got a buddy that I work with that has one eye. Hes a really good sport and takes alot of abuse. Hes been riding for awhile and the only thing I can think of was that he ran over an old man in portland last year, but it wasnt his fault... I laughed my @$$ off and asked him if the guy was in his blind spot? Everyone was ok tho. I dont mind if one eyed riders ride, as long as they are responsible.
Better than the drunken population of harley riders at bike week, or the 16 year old squid with the new zx10r doing 80mph that cant hold his line and drifts over the center line killing someone. But thats just my opinion.
Its not the speed that kills, its the sudden stops!
I'm blind in my left eye.
Lost my sight due to a snowball tearing my eye apart when I was a kid. Surgery saved my eye but not my sight.
Doing head checks and having my mirrors in the right spots keep me a safe rider. I also have done about a dozen track days with no problems at all.
When riding with new people I tell them about my left blind side and prefer not to ride side by side. I prefer the safe staggered ride line. So if I need to move left for an emergency I know a bike won't be beside me.
I tend to ride with the same friends and we all know each others riding habits. We have never had a situation or "get off" in all the years we have ridden together. And we ride at a fast street pace.
Me no likey crash
I'm a one eye Guy Myself been so for the past 5 years lost my right eye as well as parts of my skull and facial bones when I was ejected out of a car that my friend was driving. I've been riding since I was 13 and have always had a bike and 6 months after my accident I was back on it. Just heard this kid we were riding with say something about a guy with a patch on a Harley couple nights ago "you see that guy I would never ride with him he has one eye that’s dangerous" My response to him was I slowly turned side ways and popped my Glass eye out and asked "Can I ride am I dangerous to ride with because last I checked you were asking me for pointers 20 mins ago and now you have something smart to say about a guy that missing an eye. I bet the guy on the Harley will corner better than you and wont break the line in the middle of a corner because he thought he was leaning to far so I suggest you learn to ride first before you think your skills are based on what body parts you have that the other rider doesn't" and proceeded to put my eye back in.Didn’t know the guy on the Harley but I was the first to defend his right to ride. I had to were a patch for 4 years due to all my plastic and facial reconstructive surgeries so I can imagine the shit the guy on the Harley has to put up with but regardless judging someone because of there mishaps is not something I take lightly. I use to play baseball with a kid with one leg and never in my life had I seen some one run the bases faster than him and he always told me "let them talk it doesn’t bother me they talked shit about Jesus so who am I to care plus wait till I'm up to bat I'm going to run the bases lets see what they say about the one legged batter then"
I recommend a pirate motif for your bike, then the eye patch won't look out of place.

There was a acivilian that worked for my squadron that had a glass eye, most of us thought the 4th input wuld be beneficial.
How do you guys cope with the loss of depth perception?
-Alex
I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
Theres a retarded fellow that bags grocerys at the store I shop at. Hes quite personable, doesnt mix the bleach in with the food, and only drools a little bit. The only downside is I cant tell if he's speaking Spanish or some form of special English, either way, I pick up on his wacky mannerisms. I prefer to use the term handicapable in regard to people like him.
Its more of a problem for me in a car than in a bike. I have almost no depth perception. I think you just sort of learn how to figure out how far away stuff is by how fast you're going. I can't play pool for shit and I can't see Magic Eye posters, but I guess that's a small inconvenience when I consider the fact that doctors said I would be blind by 10.

So are rumble strips for blind riders?

Ive been wondering about those magic eye posters never use to work for me before guess they never will now lmao lmao I can still play pool its basketball I have a problem with but I can still hit a 80 MPH fast ball soo that was my biggest concern when I lost my eye and I really just work around most issues people belive to be HUGE problems for example blind spot in a car or on the Bike I just follow the Moto LOOK twice save my own Life I thought I was going to be a problem when I first got back on the bike but you manage to do things differently to your needs. With the Depth Preception you just have to tattoo the statement in your brain " Objects in vision might be closer than they Appear" lol lol
