So I get to be the big laugh. I don't lie. I had the bike that fast and if no one believes me I don't really give a shit. I got nothing to prove. The bike goes up to 165 like nothing and it climbed slow until I was just shy of 180 and I was at 10,000 rpm. It doesn't tack out until around 12,500-13,000. If anyone would like to make a wager I would gladly bet that I could pull 170 even with the sprocket upgrade. I know that the bike stock only does like 145 or something and I have been called a lyre before but I don't really care. I know what the bike does and that's good enough for me. Maybe if you post this all your buddies will get another good laugh and if any of them want to lose a little cash I would be willing to bet any amount of money or even the bike that it will do that speed. Better be quick before it sells though. You guys gave me enough publicity. My phone hasn't stopped ringing.

    Thanks for your time...
What a tool... He can't even admit when he is wrong because of speedo error.

So out of curiosity, his phone is ringing off the hook....are they calling to laugh or something cause I woulda thought if that was the case it would be sold.

I gotta couple dozen 20's against the bike says it won't do it. Then again, would kinda suck if he squids out trying to prove it. I would probably feel guilty....

If that thing goes over 160 downhill with a tailwind I would eat my hat.

Used 1996 HONDA CBR600F3T prices, values, specs and options at NADAguides

The real value of his bike is a little less than the asking price.

Oh snap! My cousin actually knows that guy.
Don't be so quick to lay down your bets. He clocked him at 180 in his Mustang.

My F4i at Daytona with a stock motor and full akra pipe and jet kit topped out at about 155 with the tach needle at 12.5k. Just couldn't punch through the air any more.

stock gearing or not, most bikes have error from the factory, and most always indicated speed is higher than actual. Then the faster you go, the more it is off.

ok CBR dood, you find a place to legally run a bike safely to 178 and we'll go for it...I'll put the title to my bike in a 3rd party's hand, you do the same

I'll stay behind you with my gps corrected speedo and just for ha-ha's well get someone with a radar to come play too. your bike hits 178 then you've got the title for an 07 gixxer 1k and I walk home

unfortunately my biggest worry is, how the hell am I gonna ride 2 bikes home

Actually, on my 05 ZX6R I saw 186 indicated on the front straight at VIR, so speedo error can be way off. If it was anything over 160 i would be very surprised.

Re: Can an F3 do 178mph?

The speedo on my VFR is around 10% off of my GPS indicated speed once over 100mph...

where'd we get 178 from anyway... I've had it over 170mph with the stock sprockets.

if his speedo was anything like mine then MAYBE it was more like 153ish????

Are stock speedo errors always on the high side? Anyone ever see them on the low side of the error?

What he should change is his asking price.

Weak brake pads and spent tires adds another 350 - 400 dollars in parts cost.

Seeing he has such a torqued out bike.
