Fair price for used leathers

Friend has been letting me borrow his old Vansons (not sure of year or model). Pretty good shape, couple scuffs from a slide, but no tears. One calf zipper needs to be replaced. Any ideas on a fair price? Thanks.

I think you need to find out how old they are , what options , 1 or 2 zippers , where the stretchy stuff is , pocket, I'm no expert but I was lookming last year and still looking and learning.

depends if they have full hard armor or soft? a good condition 1 piece with hard armor goes for around 400 (1 zipper) averge price for the 2 zipper is around 500

I actually have them at home: 1 zipper, hard armor at shoulders and elbows, pucks at knees, 1 inner pocket for an ID perhaps, built in hard back protector. I think they are comparable to the vansons that are rented as I think he bought them as used rentals.

About a month or so ago there was a person a craigslist in middletown ri who was selling a 1 piece vanson suit for around 75 bucks, i posted it to the board and someone on the island snagged them..deals do exist but they are few and far between like that

yeah I remember that was a wicked deal. This is a friend who has loaned them to me for 2 track days and is thinking about getting newer ones so I want to figure a good average price.

FWIW, redoing some stitching, patching minor tear (stretch panel mostly) and replacing an arm zipper ran about $120 at Vanson. Repairs can vary significantly, just intended to give you a rough idea of price to account for in your offer.

I think a lot of it will come down to how much you like the look/style. From a purely functional standpoint (one repairs made) its probably good. $200-$500?

I bought my one zipper used and well worn, ie.many crashes. It had some patches and I had to have a few thinks fixed. I paid 375-400 then 100 to fix it. Crashed in it 7 times over two seasons and only need the thread replaced on the zipper of one arm.
